As a working class human I stand for the working and poor classes. Fuck nationalism.
I agree. Globalism is the best way forward for the whole planet. A universal collective moving forward positively into the future. The powers that be, however, make "globalism" sound like a conspiracy by the elites who eat children. Fuck this timeline.
No Globalism sucks and got us where we are. Look at what happened the world depends on America so much they don't want to upset them.
Sure. Canada is looking like the better vessel for basic humanitarian concerns, though.
Do you mean the way we've been shipping off primarily lgbtqia+ refugees?
Or the pipelines were pushing to build through indigenous territories that will make our already rampant wildfires even worse?
Or the loopholes we refuse to close for shipping weapons and money to Israel?
Not sure how humanitarian any of that is.
Ah yes, Trump is exactly ideologically equivalent to Carney. /s
It's not even close. You have to cherry pick hard to make Canada seem like the bad guy.
Both can be bad. You don't have to accept any level of bad. Hope that helps.
Really? If so, that's great news. It just doesn't seem true.
As far as I can tell, my support and effort for one, in it's struggle with the other, might not shift the balance much at all. Like, you try, but it just doesn't add up to much in the grand scheme of things. In that case, completely changing them both is out of the question.
It is always the working class who pays in these conflicts.
I personally can't stand these kinds of posts since they're just so pointless. Are you expecting a pat on the back for making an internet post about how sowwy you are?
Maybe put in a bit more effort if you actually stand with us. Share links about communities with like-minded individuals. Show us what you have been doing to change your country. Show us how we can help you guys.
Edit: I'd love to know why I'm being downvoted.
Then protest. At least weekly. Not every 4 months. Even if it’s just you doing it. It has to start somewhere
I've been told many times that the vast majority of Americans are against Trump. If the VAST majority of your citizens are against the current leader and he is being allowed to do this much damage against the wishes of the vast majority YOU DON'T LIVE IN A FUNCTIONAL DEMOCRACY
If it's the "vast majority" then why did you vote for him twice? Potentially three times if he has his way.
Yeah, we've known that. See citizen's United ruling.
Just another 30 years and all the greedy boomers will be dead.
but they hatched and raised a lot of like-minded selfish|hateful|racist kids, who in turn are doing the same.. especially in the rural parts of the u.s. where people often stay their entire lives, and doubly-so for catholics and others against birth control.
Not all of them. Gen Z is turning against him.
So many people think things will get better without them taking serious, drastic, and extreme action. You're delusional. It'll get worse unless you make it better.
The social contract is broken, laws on pieces of paper are meaningless, they will not protect us.
Correct
Silly Lemming, evil never dies
IDK man did you see Gen Z's numbers in the 2024 election? They might be a little evil too. Debate culture really fucked them up.
You and me both. I've said this before, but here in the Pacific Northwest, we're more Canadian anyway. I doubt anyone would complain should Canada just take us.
Please don't leave your issues on our doorstep. You need to make your own change. We really don't want to deal with your country on those terms. Leaving Canada or someone else to 'take / save you' is why that criminal is in your white house in the first place. No one is coming to save you. So move here yourself, or get out in the streets and start yelling.
Great! It's appreciated.
As a Canadian, I ask that Americans do more than stand there.
Wow, pretty awful comments here so far.
Thanks neighbour. I hate your government, but I don't hate you. You are not your government. Keep resisting in anyway you can.
I think it boils down to a lot of frustration on our part. Every time he threatens us or another ally everyone says how sorry they are, but nothing comes of it and it just keeps happening.
It's just as easy for us to commit sedition as it is for them to commit treason.
What are we doing to help them organize their revolution?
That shit ain't easy. We need to support any resistance we can, no matter how small.
Eh. Sorry is worth something. They can't fix the whole thing themselves.
Whatever activism is also welcome, although you have to realise how vanishingly few people go that far. So, thanks for the apology.
If sorry was worth that much we wouldn't need police and armies.
And what should the police and army do about this one random American? Like, isn't that what you're implying?
Sorry wouldn't mean much from Trump, sure. OP is probably not Trump. In everyday interpersonal interactions, as opposed to official diplomacy, I hope you know the value of sorry.
Sorry and an empty sack is worth an empty sack
Leave it to an American to come here, express sorrow to us, and then expect grace from us when all they do is type a sentence in a community that isn't targeted for them.
I'm sick of Americans coming into other communities, getting on their soap box, and then saying the bare minimum to expect praise. People have stereotypes about us saying sorry all the time, but online all it ever seems to be is self-deprecating Americans coming into communities of other countries saying "sorry we're like this..." and "I'm sorry for being American"
If you truly cared you wouldn't be here begging for internet points in a performative confessional, get out and do something, showcase it, and then maybe you get a pass because ten years of this crap in varying degrees has gotten extremely tiring.
