Given the band's target audience, that isn't much of a surprise.

I've seen them live twice. Once because I wanted to. The other time was because I was at a festival and they were there. They put on a good show, and they have a song (I think it's Remember Everything) where they call any children in the audience up to the stage who are willing to go, and sing to them and give them things (I think like toy or candy necklaces or something, I couldn't see too well what it was where I was). I thought it was sweet. Plus the music ain't bad. I don't really lean much into metal, but they're acceptable to me.

Imagine Dragons have a bunch of cool songs, and did songs for the animated series Arcane and the video game Starfield. Their song Children of the Sky is ten billion percent better than Starfield. For one, it's completed...

There's something about them that I find weird, and I find it about a few bands, but most of them are foreign (one is Within Temptation). It's like they try too hard? But I can't fault them for it, I mean bands should try hard? And I like the bands I feel that way about, it's just... something. But I don't dislike it, just notice it.

Eh, in terms of what's good about them, they do crank out some nice riffs, and they're easy to shout along with.

Does that make up for the edgelord shit and the genericness? Not really. And it really doesn't make up for every song sounding almost exactly the same.

That being said, they're listenable overall, and have a couple of songs that stand out enough to not be the metal equivalent of elevator music. But they aren't a great band

Same. It's like 12-year-old's ideas of what's dark and edgy (but not too dark and edgy for radio play and middle-aged dads) packed into a marketable format.
