I've been extraordinarily busy with work over the last year or so. They keep shoveling more stuff on our plate despite the fact that we've shown that it's more than we can handle. It's almost as if focusing exclusively on sales to the exclusion of everything else is a bad idea. Makes me wonder if the company is struggling to survive.

Anyway, I've been in a constant state of mental exhaustion and I'm sick of it. If the job market was even somewhat normal I would have quit by now. But my partner doesn't have a job, so I really need to hang on to the one I have because we're barely making ends meet.

Other than that, I'm doing okay. I've made a conscious effort to reduce the amount of time I'm online, and I'm reading books a lot more now.

Not bad. I got an essay accepted to publish in a Zine, pitched a gaming article to a few places (fingers crossed), and am surviving a cold.

Got official written offer. I'll start on the 21st.

Grandma also died. Grief is hitting differently bc I'm estranged with her, but it's upsetting that I felt I wasn't allowed to know her and by extension not know my family outside of parents and siblings. Now that she's gone, I guess I'm now "permitted" to know more of my family. It's complicated. I'm upset at myself for both things I could and couldn't control.

But at least I'll be able to see my cousins again soon.

Pretty good! I had a few playtesters for my game last week with positive feedback (and of course bugs) but it’s looking good for next fest!

And I got to spend some time with family :) it’s always appreciated , even when I have to do chores they always beat me at card games 😂

Pretty sure I managed to formally define intelligence and I’m working on implementing it on a computer. You essentially get an LLM that doesn’t need world's books to talk. I suspect it’ll also not hallucinate because it’s lossless unlike neural networks. I’d say I’m about half way done implementing it.
