And those are mega companies that are much more entwined in "the economy" then you might think.

Literally do not care. Crash the economy. Its either some suffering now that we CAN get through by working together, or causing much more irrevocable harm and massive suffering and many more causalties for all later.

I agree I mainly said that to push back on the idea that changes aren't really needed after we deal with these "small number of companies".

but but but... have you considered how many people those 100 companies employ, how many families they feed?

In the mid-2000's everyone was saying how we could curb climate change if we all just did our part to cut our emissions. Now even if everyone came together and brought their emissions down to 0, the few major pollutant companies alone put out as much as the global pollution output was back then.

It was never going to be as simple as coming together to reduce our own individual minuscule emissions, even if doing so is still beneficial; it was always going to be forcing the real polluters to stop or die trying, either by their hands, or by the hands of the climate they destroyed.

These companies don't produce pollution, they are producing your consumerist shit.

Don't be this guy!

People will stull buy from them despite everything, their marketing is on point. More so they'll give themselves a green sticker of some sort to put on their products.
