What will happen, will happen, the screaming doesn't change that. It just makes it worse.

Man ... Seriously ... It's not a movie or a game. If your life is on a line you will not act like a true gentleman.

Accident: Sepehran B733 at Mashhad on Sep 14th 2026, rejected takeoff due to severe vibrations

| By Simon Hradecky, created Wednesday, Sep 16th 2026 06:17Z, last updated Wednesday, Sep 16th 2026 06:24ZA Sepehran Boeing 737-300, registration EP-FSU performing flight SHI-4358 from Mashhad to Kermanshah (Iran), was accelerating on Mashhad's runway 31L when the aircraft suffered severe vibrations of the entire airframe also causing the overhead lockers to collapse and fall onto the passengers, who kept the ceiling structure up with their arms and hands. The crew rejected takeoff and stopped on the runway. There are no injuries being reported. Passengers reported their flight was delayed due to the assigned aircraft EP-FST suffering a technical defect, EP-FSU was to replace the aircraft. On departure the aircraft suffered severe vibrations, the cabin ceiling came down. The flight was finally completed with the originally assigned aircraft EP-FST, that arrived into Kermanshah with a delay of about 9 hours. Iran's CAA reported abnormal vibrations (shimmy) of the main landing gear due to a defective shimmy damper caused damage to the gear structure including the lower torsion link which further resulted in damage to the tyres. The condition of the tyres as well as the pilot performance did not play a role in the accident, however the condition of the shimmy damper was poor due to leakages, wear and corrosion. The occurrence came to light due to the passenger video surfacing on social media.

The roof panels fell but I didn’t see the overhead bins fall/collapse on that video.

Don’t fully understand, if shortly after leaving the runway then they would be in the air and this wouldn’t have been the result of losing a wheel. Shortly before leaving the runway? Or was this a realization upon landing? Either way terrifying

[-] jode@pawb.social 5 points 2 days ago

Those wheels are spinning incredibly fast at that point and when one suddenly goes out of balance this is what you get.

[-] polydactyl@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Damn, those tiny wheels have that much momentum? Or it’s that it really messes with aerodynamics? I have airplane questions, airplane sage

[-] jode@pawb.social 5 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Oh yeah big time. Those little wheels are actually pretty big and weigh several hundred pounds. Here's a pic for scale Here's a picture for scale

[-] W98BSoD@lemmy.dbzer0.com -1 points 2 days ago

Here’s a banana for scale

What is that man shouting? 'ya... halid?' What does that mean?

[-] mbfalzar@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 3 days ago

It sounds like he's shouting ya Ali, which is the Shia version of "oh Christ" or like, invoking an apostle for aid. I can't really think of a Christian equivalent

[-] GalacticGrapefruit@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Thanks for the translation, I appreciate it.

[-] whyNotSquirrel@sh.itjust.works 7 points 3 days ago

i think it's the name of the guy who's selling tires

[-] GalacticGrapefruit@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

I mean, if he's screaming for help or trying to warn people of something, or giving instructions, it'd be nice to know what that means.

[-] KulunkelBoom@lemmus.org 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Well.... at least the door didn't fall off.

[-] dismay3915@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Dude plane accidents are absolutely horrifying

[-] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Who wants to bet this will be posted on twitter at some point as "Leaked 9/11 video"?

I bet somebody is going to do that within 5 years.

[-] Oka@sopuli.xyz 7 points 3 days ago

I flew recently and one other the planes at the airport made an unplanned tire change. Wonder if this was their motivation.

[-] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

To avoid this, you mean.

[-] AfterlifeAdventures@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago
