Dumb question but where are you getting beans for so cheap? Canned around me is 80 cents to a dollar and in a bag is typically the same price per weight.
Also the weight thing: A pint is a pound is a good rule of thumb when canning. A pound of dry beans is going to make pounds of canned beans. So that dry pound is a lot more beans than that canned pound.
Ahhh I didn’t think about the liquid in the cans as weighing much but that makes sense. Thanks for the info!

For canning them at home, do you have a recipe to share? I've prepared beans in a pressure cooker and froze them, but haven't tried canning them.
Pick clean, rinse, bring to a boil for 5 minutes, let sit for 30 minutes, place in jar (fill about 3/4 full), fill with boiling water leaving one inch headspace, lids, hot canner, standard boil/vent/pressure procedure, 75 minutes for pints.
