If it was Canadian they would call it pop not soda.

Also don't call KD mac and cheese.

[-] GrackleBirb@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 weeks ago

Americans say pop too in the Midwest

That just means no alcohol, pop means it's a fizzy drink.

Is this a Montreal specific thing? We use soft drink to refer to things like Coke, Sprite, Crush, etc. I've never heard it used in the context of alcohol-free beverages.

No, I mean the term "soft drink". I've never heard anyone use "pop" here.

Cardboard mostly.

[-] Cethin@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 weeks ago

Kraft Dinner is my guess. I really have no idea though.

[-] tquid@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 weeks ago

This. Canadians initialize it, for some reason.

[-] HumanOnEarth@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 weeks ago

Why letter many when less do?

Vastly inferior to Knorr Sidekicks which I think are Dutch owned now. Cheese & Chipotle noodles are the best shit ever.

[-] wirebeads@lemmy.ca 15 points 2 weeks ago

Boycott it. American garbage.

Because we can’t understand that just because we can, doesn’t mean we should.

[-] adespoton@lemmy.ca 11 points 2 weeks ago

KD is owned by Kraft Heinz, a VERY American company. I think this product is some sort of cross border economic warfare.

[-] jmill@lemmy.zip 6 points 2 weeks ago

This pop seems more likely to be biological warfare.

wanna bet its just mac n'cheese powder in soda. next it would be poutine soda, tim hortons coffee soda?

[-] Lemmyoutofhere@lemmy.ca 11 points 2 weeks ago

Apparently the gates to hell have actually opened.

[-] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 10 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

What the hell is going on up there? First KFCereal with gravy and now this? Y'all okay?

[-] CentipedeFarrier@piefed.social 4 points 2 weeks ago

I thought the kfc one was in the UK?

[-] thanksforallthefish@literature.cafe 6 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Price on ad is £6 so yeah, UK if real. I've not seen it at the supermarket nor seen ads for it.

Edit.

Limited edition gimmick only sold online and for a limited time

Ooh, think it'll go with ketchup flavored potato chips?

[-] Skyline969@piefed.ca 14 points 2 weeks ago

Ketchup chips absolutely slap. This… no.

[-] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone -1 points 2 weeks ago

Why would anyone get Ketchup chips when All Dressed are an option?

In the US, you can finally find All Dressed chips occasionally, and man they're so good.

[-] HumanOnEarth@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 weeks ago

This is how we're going to tell each side apart when the US invades Canada

[-] ergonomic_importer@piefed.ca 1 points 2 weeks ago

I think it's fun for the ketchup chips to take a little swim in the KD juice

[-] Kowowow@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 weeks ago
[-] Kernal64@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 weeks ago

Why? Do... Do you lunatics put ketchup on mac and cheese? 😰

[-] lost_faith@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 weeks ago

Gotta put some flavour on it

[-] cheat700000007@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

Sweet, I'll finally have a use for the juice that collects in the top of ketchup

[-] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago
[-] veeesix@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 weeks ago

Ugh, I’ll take 10.

[-] Kolanaki@pawb.social 3 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

It'll go great with a bottle of bacon soda. 😃

[-] DeadEndLink@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 weeks ago

Abomination...

[-] cerebralhawks@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 weeks ago

As long as it's not flavoured like the canned Heinz macaroni and cheese they have in the UK.

I'm just imagining cheese flavoured soda, and I don't think it would be that bad... if you used the right cheese. Sharp cheddar (the cheese flavour I associate with Kraft Dinner, though it's probably a blend) and carbonated water doesn't sound good to me. I'd sip it if I could (bariatric, I can't). Flat, I feel like the point would be lost. Might as well be hot dog water at that point.
