Microsoft already recorded players in the past: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/research/blog/introducing-muse-our-first-generative-ai-model-designed-for-gameplay-ideation/ Without asking for consent of course (as far as I can tell)
You say that as if Microsoft had ever behaved morally or decently, or treated its customers respectfully at any point in its half-century history...
Oh, I know. I'm just letting the people know who haven't been aware yet.
Wonder if a new generation of gamers is dumb enough to actually use this.
it's not about being dumb, it's about being conditioned by your environment -- if this is all they've ever known, they will never stop to consider an alternative.
it's a reality about generational knowledge that things like COINTELPRO and the esptein class leverage VERY heavily.
Not really a matter of generation though.
Well this shit will probably impact performance a lot like Denuvo so at least some people will get mad at it.
Microsoft already recorded players in the past, so apparently yes, players are - in your words - dumb enough to continue to play Microsoft games (which includes Call of Duty, Elder Scrolls, and so on).
These people see black mirror and go "hell yeah"
I see the positive side of this: Since Microslop patented this technology, no one else is allowed to use it. So I only have to boycott Microslop games instead of watching the whole industry adopting this. Thank you Microslop.
They could license it out…
Thanks, Steve.
