I'm not able to dedicate time to 5 gal batches anymore. I'm thinking about getting a hot plate and brewing 1 or 2 gals. Anyone tried that?

Yeah i use a tilreda for my mash. Works so well husband went and bought himself another dedicated one for the brewery

I've used one from IKEA that's 2000W (TILREDA) for 10L batches. It's just a cheap single-plate induction top, costs 45€, but it works perfectly fine.

That's what I use with a 25 liter pot to boil about 22 liters of wort.
