Hi, I'm starting to try to use CoMaps in the Philippines, I'm realizing that there isn't much detail yet here. Not many restaurants, landmarks, etc. Is this due to lacking underlying OpenMaps data?

Yep. I'm just a user, but I'm pretty sure that means nobody has taken the time to add the data. You can make an account and start editing some of the map yourself from inside CoMaps. For more granular detail, you'll need to visit https://www.openstreetmap.org/ and edit there.

True. I'll work on that to add more, then. Thank you

For adding basic stuff I think street complete is really fun, it just shows you simple missing information like house numbers that can make a big difference once navigating

Also reach out to the local community, they can help a lot: https://openstreetmap.community/?map=14.67443%2C120.99833&zoom=5.32

Magandang umaga!

Someone recommended the app Every Door to me. Does simple place editing instead of all the editing options. Sometimes easier to start that way.

Yeah, Every Door and StreetComplete are two apps I know of that can be used to add data to OpenStreetMap.
