Hi @grant@toast.ooo and @threelonmusketeers and thanks for answering. I'm not familiar with the workings of authentication and how it relates to the different types of instances. I kinda thought that all fediverse instances had somehow settled/agreed on a compatible standard but it seems my understanding is too shallow 😑.

I just saw from their FAQ that they only support a specific type of instance:

Which platforms are supported?

Anything with Mastodon-compatible OAuth: Mastodon, Pixelfed, GoToSocial, Pleroma, Akkoma, Misskey, Sharkey, Hometown.

Bluesky, Lemmy, and Threads are not supported.

Hello, I really like bubbles.town and would like to start voting for entries.

I tried logging in with the sh.itjust.works instance, but I get the error message above.

Maybe I didn't type things right? Are there settings I have to enable somewhere? I'm not so familiar with instances and their inter compatibility.

I'm using an updated Fulguris browser on mobile.

Below is what I entered:

Edit: wrong 2and pic, now it's the right one.

Update: bought a small fan and placed it to blow on the router. Seems to have solved the problem.

True. I'll work on that to add more, then. Thank you

Hi, I'm starting to try to use CoMaps in the Philippines, I'm realizing that there isn't much detail yet here. Not many restaurants, landmarks, etc. Is this due to lacking underlying OpenMaps data?

Why the downvotes? Because AI = bad?

I think the report tries to show that opensource is preferable to closed AI, as regards performance, monetary cost, and access among others.

It doesn't mention environmental concerns, sadly. But nonetheless, at least from my understanding, good opensource models can be run by people or institutions that choose to power them responsibly, not to mention the fact that more eyes on the models mean they can be optimized for resource use faster perhaps than closed models which are incentivised to increase raw performance.

In my view, any efforts that keep AI open at all levels should be worthy of support, no?

I hope so... I'll be in France over the winter, I sure hope I can snap one up in the time I'm there!

Thanks for sharing! I've lived there and it explains that strong, unique culture experience that defines this admirable nation.

Yes, several times. I'm in the Philippines and power is intermittent, unstable. I think that took its toll and inner components suffered. It's all closed up so not a dust issue. Evening it drops to 40°C and it doesn't act up anymore. Maybe I'll move it in front of the aircon or turn a fan to it to keep it cool

After 3 years of no issues, the main base now overheats and shuts on and off every 5-15 minutes. Temp reaches 45°C. Why would this happen now and what might I do about it?
