Life is a shit show. The cycle continues.. Perhaps it’s important to celebrate the small things, like a weekly anniversary. Do you observe a weekly tribute to the passing of time- either a beverage, a moment, an all-day outlook, etc.? Which day do you pick and what’s the significance?

A long time ago, I decided to assign a capital sin to each day of the week and "honor" it. For example, Wednesdays were for greed and I would buy myself something no matter how small or silly. Fridays were gluttony days so I would go eat outside, and so on. I should probably resume this tradition

Weirdly it's Monday. Monday through Wednesday is often the slowest part of the week for me.

Friday cause it's pizza Friday, so I get pizza!

I don't care if Monday's blue

Tuesday's grey and Wednesday too

Thursday, I don't care about you

It's Friday, I'm in love

That's the cure I like as well.

Friday night dinners are my "work is over, time to relax" marker. I pick something outside of my usual calorie/nutritional goals and also have dessert and use it as my celebration for getting through another week of work. Pizza and ice cream, burgers and brownies, whatever breaks from my usual and reminds me that there's more to life than a constant grind.

I know its lost its luster and while I don't actually need one by any means, I would love to set one day a week to simply have a beer and celebrate existing- as it were.

For me, Friday is already spoken for and doesn't need anything extra. The same goes for Saturday.. unless it’s grilling time with friends, which is always nice. Sundays are tough because the weekend is almost over.. hmm.

No, I think the optimal time to force a moment of peace and meditation is mid-week. I was thinking maybe Thursday. Because.. “we’re amlost there!” Monday is a no-go with four days ahead still. Blah. Wednesday is the halfway point where its all downhill, so I don’t think hump day needs anything extra.

I’d wager sweet spot is Tuesday. It can be the finish line to help push through a Monday. Gotta have those short term goals. I can handle Mondays and Sundays if my goal is only Tuesday. Rather than waiting all the way ‘til Friday.

I celebrate today, because you know...

Yesterday was misery, tomorrow is anxiety, but today we gotta grift, that's why they call it unpleasant 🙏

I could never get the hang of Thursdays.

Pg27 of the guide?

[-] Denjin@feddit.uk 1 points 13 hours ago

You should send that in to the Reader's Digest, they've got a page for people like you.

I actually like Mondays. I work from home, and that's when I get to have the house by myself.

I have tried to have a day where I don't really do work but its impossible to keep up.

[-] MyBrainHurts@piefed.ca 1 points 11 hours ago

Tuesdays! They are the first of three days in a row of soccer at night and a day and a half of classes (and only a day and a half of work, instead of 3 days of work.)

[-] dharmacurious@slrpnk.net 3 points 14 hours ago

I don't know why, but I've always quite liked Thursdays. It's a nice day. I don't do anything in particular, it's just a nice day, especially when I was a kid and homeschooled and didn't have a traditional schedule.

[-] DeepDown@leminal.space 2 points 14 hours ago

Any day I'm not scheduled. My favorites are towards the midweek though, when I like to go out

[-] RickyRigatoni@piefed.zip 1 points 12 hours ago

The days of the week are meaningless.

I work from home on Friday so Thursday night is kind of like my mini Friday night. As in, I can have beer. I try not to during the week itself.

[-] lntl@lemmy.ml 0 points 12 hours ago

I celebrate everyday. Each one is a blessing that I am grateful to be able to experience and share with my loved ones.
