These are my beliefs:
China is a semi-periphery country: They are exploited by finance and by unequal exchange, but they also benefit from looking the other way when they import commodities from periphery countries like cobalt from the DRC.
China is undermining the monopolies on investment, IPs, and advanced commodities necessary for industrialization that the West has held control over, and in doing so they're making it easier for periphery countries to industrialize and free themselves from neocolonialism, which helps anti-imperialist struggle.
However, you should not make the mistake of assuming they're doing this because they're good, you'd be a really bad historical materialist if you believed that. They do what they do because it's in their material interests as a semi-periphery country. They've escaped the control of imperialism, so they're free now to act towards their own interests instead of being slaves to the interests of international finance. That is to be expected and is definitely an improvement.
The contradiction between the periphery and the semi-periphery does need to be resolved, though, they need to be united.
