They’re actually removing posts/comments urging people to vote. Pretty bold for a bunch of cowards if you ask me.

(Not my post btw, just saw it in the logs)

More of the bullshit.

For the record, this person was banned as well. That walled garden of theirs must stink like hot ass from all the smug fart-smelling douchebags circle jerking over their beloved authoritarian dickead mods flexing their hypocrisy.

As a communist myself, voting does matter. It shouldn't be the only thing you do, but it's good to slightly slow down fascism while building your revolutionary momentum.

[-] lettruthout@lemmy.world 38 points 16 hours ago

If voting didn’t matter they wouldn’t spend so much money trying to influence your choice. So vote (for a better world).

[-] Pratai@piefed.ca 17 points 15 hours ago

They know voting matters. That’s why they don’t want you doing it. They’re nothing more than propaganda purposed to influence American elections.

They’re bought-and-paid-for pawns. So point and laugh while you vote against what they all stand for.

I voted yesterday.

[-] TootSweet@lemmy.world 29 points 15 hours ago

Good job, tankies. You helped to get a meme president elected to pwn the libs.

[-] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 3 points 6 hours ago

They think that somehow socialism (whatever that means) will magically emerge once Trump brings about the downfall of the US. That's why they hate the Democrats so much. And of course they hate democracy as a principle because deep down they just want to be part of the ruling class.

[-] Pratai@piefed.ca 17 points 15 hours ago

That’s exactly what they wanted. It wasn’t an accident.

[-] chicken@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 9 hours ago

Why do they want it? Accelerationism?

[-] agamemnonymous@sh.itjust.works 5 points 9 hours ago

That's one way to put it. Seems like they just want the West to collapse as justice for, well, most of history. Not that I blame them, on principle, but it's a fairly simplistic view. Collapsing world powers are typically bad business for the world in general.

[-] Funkt4st1c@lemmy.world 8 points 12 hours ago

Voting matters. Voting is also the least impactful thing you as an individual can do, but the most impactful thing a peaceful collective can do.

Next best is organized protests but our feudal overlords have drones and we have the cajones of a frijole (and deported most of the people who could translate that for you)

[-] agamemnonymous@sh.itjust.works 3 points 9 hours ago

Vote in the general election. Vote in primaries. Canvass for primary candidates. Join their campaigns. Attend local council meetings. Run for local office. Organize protests. Organize your workplace. Organize mutual aid in your neighborhood. Radicalize your friends and neighbors. Join a militia. Start a militia. Start a zine. Start a social media page.

You can do all those things. Voting strategically doesn't invalidate all your other efforts, and it takes a couple hours every couple years. There's no reason not to.

Research shows social media advertising suppresses voting in targeted communities

A new study is the first to quantify the effect of this kind of microtargeting on voter turnout.

They specifically target minorities as well.

I made a write-up earlier on YPTB showing how the mods on LSC are overreaching even within the repressive rules they write to stifle criticism – and totally ignoring them themselves.

[-] CardboardDecoy@lemmy.world 8 points 13 hours ago

I didn't even realize how bad it was until I made comments on a voter suppression thread and then systematically had all of my commenta deleted and THEN argued with by the mod who deleted them in a show of true democratic debate.

After a couple days they just banned me without cause. Think you can still go and see the mod arguing with "comment deleted by moderators"

[-] Pratai@piefed.ca 16 points 15 hours ago

Oh they know exactly what they’re doing. Late Stage Capitalism is a little slice of .ml’s authoritarian rhetoric right there on .world. And they 100% stand against the concept of free elections and freedom of speech.

[-] Skyrmir@lemmy.world 15 points 15 hours ago

That forum is part of a right wing grooming system. It's best to just block them and move on.

[-] Pratai@piefed.ca 13 points 15 hours ago

I have them blocked. However they still show up in mod-logs. And the irony of them claiming to be anti-authoritarian bootlickers, while systematically removing anyone that disagrees with their propaganda.

It’s comical.

What is a Tankie?

Alternatively, a detailed blog post about Tankies.

(caution of biased source)

Basic Rules:

Sh.itjust.works Instance rules apply! If you are from other instances, please be mindful of the rules. — Basically, don't be a dick.

Hate-Speech — You should be familiar with this one already; practically all instances have the same rules on hate speech.

Apologia — (Using the Modern terminology for Apologia) No Defending, Denying, Justifying, Bolstering, or Differentiating authoritarian acts or endeavours, whether it be a Pro-CCP viewpoint, Stalinism, Islamic Terrorism or any variation of Tankie Ideology.

Revisionism — No downplaying or denying atrocities past and present. Calling Tankies shills, foreign/federal agents, or bots also falls under this rule. Extremists exist. They are real. Do not call them shills or fake users, as it handwaves their extremism.

Off-topic Discussion — Do not discuss unrelated topics to the point of derailing the thread. Stay focused on the direct content of the post, rather than engaging in arguments that lack mutual agreement.

Brigading/Trolling — If you're here because this community was linked in another thread, please refrain from maliciously voting, commenting, or manipulating the post in any way. This includes alt accounts. All votes are public, and if you are found to be brigading, you will be banned. Good-faith and honest communication is an exception.

Tankies can explain their views, but may be criticised or challenged for them. Any minor infraction of the rules may result in a warning and possibly a temporary ban.

In most cases, you'll be warned if you're violating the instance and community rules. Continuing poor behaviour after being warned will result in a ban or removal of your comments. Depending on the content, the ban time may vary.
