People who decide to stop with their grocery cart in the middle of a choke point at the grocery store and are completely unaware of their soundings.

[-] Fredselfish@sh.itjust.works 8 points 3 days ago

Don't get me started. Guy and wife block entrance to aile. I say excuse me and squeeze threw. Guy says "you in hurry?" I turned and said "you don't own the aile." Go get my item and left took 20 seconds. His wife oblivious to what going on around her was standing in front of the rows of two liter Coke products going "should I get Coke or Diet Coke." And by time I got my items and left she was still deciding. So if I did it her husband way he expected me stand there for over who knows how long for wife to decide get the item and then move? Fuck you and that.

"Are you in a hurry?"

The proper response is "Yes. Move."

The less of my free time I waste at the grocery store the better.

[-] doingthestuff@lemy.lol 6 points 3 days ago

I'm actually not in a hurry. But I also 100% am not going to let some oblivious self centered assholes keep me from moving about freely.

lotsa people who are either entitled, have no spatial awareness, or both.

[-] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 5 points 3 days ago

especially the ones on thier phones. or they get mad if you try to move thier cart out of the way to get something in the same section they are.

Look I'm just an idot that can't find something but if I notice I'm blocking the way I move. Also lately I noticed that I got so used to living with anxiety that I basically have tunnel vision constantly when I'm outside and get 90% dumber and less aware of my surrounding ironically both hyper focuse on if someone stares at me but oblivious to anything else.

[-] fartographer@lemmy.world 13 points 3 days ago

You can't just go around calling out my wife like that.

[-] xylol@leminal.space 15 points 4 days ago

There was a whole fight at the store near me with someone used bear spray and sent all sorts of people to the hospital over that

[-] Kacarott@aussie.zone 10 points 3 days ago

I think if a bear stopped their cart in a choke point in front of me, I would probably just find a different aisle

[-] hakunawazo@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

Ah shit, here we go again

[-] Damage@slrpnk.net 14 points 4 days ago

I just roll my cart at them at sustained speed and utter a strong yet non-aggressive "EXCUSE ME". It works. It helps that I'm a man with a strong voice.

[-] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 38 points 4 days ago

A total stranger in NYC decided to help us out when I was pushing my husband's wheelchair across the street towards the ubiquitous clump of ramp-standers on the sidewalk. They were ignoring my polite "Excuse me" but when he bellowed "WATCH YER BACK!" they parted like the sea before Moses. It wasn't just his volume or accent, suddenly it was about THEM and their safety! I've used it ever since, and it never fails. I make no visible attempt to stop or slow (while of course being alert for helpless old people or small children) and use plenty of volume and urgency because, after all, I'm warning them of danger.

And I do the accent. It's part of the magic.

[-] DaddleDew@lemmy.world 20 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

My inner fantasy is to yell "BEEP BEEP, MOTHERFUCKER!" and commit to a collision course with their cart.

But in my area it's mostly just old people who are doing their best.

I have yet to ran into anyone’s car, but I will say beep beep when I forget to say my (real) words and people do generally get the idea.

[-] Grail@multiverse.soulism.net 14 points 4 days ago

Congratulations on learning the incantation for a new magic spell!

[-] danekrae@lemmy.world 13 points 4 days ago

"Hi Betty, how are yooou?! Lets stand here and blab for five minutes, while everyone has to scoot akwardly around us."

[-] innermachine@lemmy.world 10 points 4 days ago

That's not even too bad, the amount of times I have rolled up to 2 stoped cars going opposite directions in a neighborhood that stopped for a chat blocking up the whole road is insane. Stop behind for 10 seconds to be kind, then start laying on the horn. Now I'm getting 2 middle fingers like I'm the dickhead 🤬

[-] FishFace@piefed.social 5 points 3 days ago

Did you start with a polite toot?

[-] innermachine@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago

Always a polite double toot, upon being ignored I decide to make their conversation more difficult in an attempt to encourage them to move along 😊

[-] Feathercrown@lemmy.world 8 points 4 days ago

I call them "bonus obstacles" and see how far I can ram their cart

(In my mind)

[-] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 3 days ago

People that do this with their car

[-] eddanja@lemmy.world 54 points 4 days ago

I feel like there will be a line drawn after which a certain age group will not understand this meme.

[-] Feathercrown@lemmy.world 62 points 4 days ago

I can guess it's the guy who sang "move bitch get out the way" but I don't recognize them. 25yo btw

[-] PlantDadManGuy@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

900-year-old here, how did my sarcophagus get to the British museum of history?

[-] Psionicsickness@reddthat.com 10 points 4 days ago

25 and 50 not knowing, I guess, but you should know who Ludacris is.

[-] Siethron@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago

Heard the name. But I don't watch music. Currently my favorite band is Shinedown. I have NO IDEA what any of them look like.

[-] Ghoelian@piefed.social 10 points 3 days ago

Why should i know that? I've heard the name before, but thats it

[-] OldChicoAle@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

Y'all never seen a fast and furious movie?

[-] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 4 points 3 days ago

Ah, that movie, for better or worse, defined my whole generation of guys in highschool. Could swing a dead cat without running into some dude obsessed with tuning his car.

Thankfully, I was nowhere near rich nor "cool" enough to even contemplate owning a car. For me it was my parents' beat up '92 Chrysler Sundance.

[-] FishFace@piefed.social 3 points 3 days ago
[-] PlantDadManGuy@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

Because it's pure '90s Cinema. You uncultured swine!

[-] OldChicoAle@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

I don't know. I don't know you.

[-] doingthestuff@lemy.lol 2 points 3 days ago

THAT'S MY PURSE!!

[-] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

No... I guess it was too fast, too furious

[-] OpenStars@discuss.online 7 points 4 days ago

[-] uuj8za@piefed.social 26 points 4 days ago
[-] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 3 days ago

300 kick intensifies

[-] bort@sopuli.xyz 12 points 4 days ago

just say "sorry" instead "excuse me", so when you bump into them 1s later, you can just walk on with out stopping to apologizing since you already did.
