Quesadilla (lemmy.nz)

Cheddar, black beans, jalapeno cream sauce, ripe jalapenos, sour cream.

It's basically a repeat from the other day but it's fast and cheap.

Cost per person $1.76.

Out of scope for the budget.

I'm really stoked for my lasagna in the oven but I'm still kind of jealous of you lol

What. I want this! How do I make this? Just a tortilla, the stuff you listed on top, then another tortilla and cheese?

[-] FauxPseudo@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

Tortilla in pan at medium low heat. Add your cheese and whatever other toppings. But another tortilla on top. Put a lid on it. Let it cook for 5 minutes. Flip it over. Cook for another 4 minutes.

Thank you, I'll have to give that a try... Perhaps tomorrow!

I'm so excited for you

Quesadillas are my go-to when I can't think of anything else to eat and it slaps every time. This looks delicious!!

Not me. I ate.

Not Quesadilla policía... however some hints to transcendent crunchy goodness:

-toast the insides first. Crisp one side of tortilla. Put toppings on it. Crisp other side and put on top. Crispy faces insides. Continue as before. Flip. Etc. This makes it 2x crispy and reduces time to melt. -use white melty cheese like Munster or Monterey jack, Oaxaca or heck mozzarella.

Add cilantro, drained chorizo/soyrizo sauté some onions and jalapeños. You are doing great, better is potentially available.

My two remaining onions were no bueno. This explicitly has garden ripe jalapenos in it. Chorizo/cilantro is money I don't have.

Does whipped sour cream in a can exist?

[-] FauxPseudo@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Not that I know of. This is from a pouch. It's literally the only name brand premium packaged ingredient I buy. The form factor makes life easier.

Good. Im going to be rich.

You should write a cookbook and retire!

That's not a quesadilla, that's a crime against humanity

Quesadilla P.D. has arrived. Woop-woop! That's the sound of da police!

[-] Eheran@lemmy.world -1 points 1 day ago

Why not the other way around? Cutting through hard with soft below is not so great.

[-] FauxPseudo@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Are you under the impression there is only one tortilla on that plate?

[-] BussyGyatt@feddit.org 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

maybe they're not from 'quesadillaville'
