Brain signals recorded by a gaming headset or a wellness gadget could one day be used as evidence against you in court, according to a new UN report which warns that neurotechnology is outpacing the laws meant to protect human rights.

I haven't read much on the topic because the tech is still new, but from what I've read, BCI's are hackable.

This is holding someone guilty BEFORE THE CRIME.

I'm old now and I don't have much potential left in me. They should have jailed me when I had my MOST potential...just before I was circumcised.

Your penis--circumcised or not--is the single best predictor of your likelihood to commit violent crime.

which one is the violent one? I have to know!

[-] SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml 2 points 17 hours ago

A. Are you circumcised?

B. Are you violent?

There's your answer.

I swear this is how we all end up walking around with daft punk helmets on in the future. We need to protect our faces since that has become basically a password and we’ll also need to block these brain reading technologies that are trying to harvest our thoughts.

But only if you use those bain interface devices. Just don't use any of that shit and be happy

I'd use an open source brain interface, maybe, with built in options to disable it at any time should I wish so. Basically a brain interface as we might imagine it in star trek. I know that likely won't ever happen and if Brian interfaces ever become a real thing I know it will all be corporate controlled, so yeah, ain't happening
