Pineapple on a pizza with Canadian bacon and a spicy thai sauce base is next level, I don't care what anyone says.

[-] GuyDudeman@lemmy.world 18 points 4 days ago

Sounds like a Hawaiian to me.

Personally, I like Pepperoni with pineapple. It’s my favorite. And nobody can convince me otherwise.

[-] AlecSadler@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 4 days ago

Hawaiian doesn't have spicy thai sauce base. The sweet / spicy / savory makes it for me personally.

[-] Protoknuckles@lemmy.world 7 points 4 days ago

Try bacon with pineapple. The saltiness helps so much.

[-] ghost_towels@sh.itjust.works 5 points 4 days ago

Bacon, pineapple, mushrooms, and feta! It’s my go to and I’ve gotten a lot of people hooked on it.

[-] Kenny4tunes@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

Sounds great, I'll give it a go sometime. Pineapple on a spicy pizza such as a chilli/jalepeno pizza is also great. Or a BBQ chicken pizza, with Jalepeno added.

Pepperoni, bacon, pineapple, jalapeño is my go-to

[-] GuyDudeman@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

I honestly don’t like bacon on anything. I love it by itself. But people try to put it on everything - donuts even - and it’s always too inconsistently textured to be a proper topping material. In a sandwich, it needs to be crispy to be any good, in my opinion. Maybe crispy bacon on pizza would be ok. But chewy bacon? No thanks!

[-] Cavemanfreak@programming.dev 2 points 4 days ago

A Hawaiian pizza with bananas and curry powder is also really great

[-] MonkderVierte@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 days ago

....i prefer fresh bacon.

[-] phoenixarise@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

Ooh I could go for one of those right now

[-] Vespair@lemmy.zip 20 points 4 days ago

I continue to refuse to believe that any real person on earth has ever cared what another person puts on their pizza

[-] sundray@lemmus.org 10 points 4 days ago

I agree. I only ever care about what someone puts on my pizza.

[-] Zedd_Prophecy@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago

I care what I have on my pizza. Pineapple is fine sometimes, used to go to a place in New Britian Ct. They put maraschino cherries in the middle of the pineapple slices and it was the bomb.

[-] FatVegan@leminal.space 4 points 4 days ago

Sounds like a reddit thing where not liking pineapple on pizza is somehow a character trait.

[-] Aedaz_@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 days ago

Basically.

“As a .00001% Italian this hurts my soul.”

[-] HeHoXa@lemmy.zip 1 points 4 days ago

It was a pretty serious debate about whether we could suffer step dad putting pineapple on half of it.

[-] Dozzi92@lemmy.world 0 points 4 days ago

Welp, here I am. Fortunately, the fad seems to have died out, but I'd go to friends, we'd order a few pizzas. Someone would say what do we get? I'd say "Sausage," and someone would say "Pineapple" or "Hawaiian," and people would ooh and ahh.

Guess who only got one slice of sausage, and guess which pizza always had leftovers? People wanted to get it because it was a fad, and I'll stand by that. Sausage is tried and true, best topping.

[-] Dozzi92@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

You appreciate that things go in and out of style, right?

[-] Vespair@lemmy.zip 3 points 4 days ago

I never claimed that pineapple or any other topping had to be popular, liked, regularly ordered, or that it wasn't a trend.

Just that nobody actually balks at it, because why the fuck would they? That's not normal adult behavior.

And if somebody does balk at it, it is almost certainly because they have been conditioned by the popular meme, not because they actually give even half of a shit.

[-] Dozzi92@lemmy.world -1 points 4 days ago

And I'm saying I balked at it, because everyone who said yes to pineapple would inevitably have a slice of sausage in hand, and I just want two goddamn slices of sausage pie!

[-] PapaStevesy@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

Your failure to grab two slices is your fault, not your friends' fault. It's a problem that's extremely easily solved, by you, without any necessary change in behavior from anyone else.

[-] brsrklf@jlai.lu 3 points 4 days ago

That's how animals "talk" in Garfield.

[-] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 6 points 4 days ago

Gotta be fresh, squeezed dry pineapple with unbolted Italian basil underneath. Pineapple without appropriate basil is just stupid.

[-] Bipauler@sh.itjust.works 6 points 4 days ago

I'm pretty sure there should be some jalapenos up on there too, fresh of course. finally sliced, or diced?

[-] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 1 points 4 days ago

I wouldn't mind grassiness and spice. Though I usually prefer ground chili powder to add more sour. Love me some sour

Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.

Rules
  1. 😇 Be Nice!

    • Treat others with respect and dignity. Friendly banter is okay, as long as it is mutual; keyword: friendly.
  2. 🏘️ Community Standards

    • Comics should be a full story, from start to finish, in one post.
    • Posts should be safe and enjoyable by the majority of community members, both here on lemmy.world and other instances.
    • Any comic that would qualify as raunchy, lewd, or otherwise draw unwanted attention by nosy coworkers, spouses, or family members should be tagged as NSFW.
    • Moderators have final say on what and what does not qualify as appropriate. Use common sense, and if need be, err on the side of caution.
  3. 🧬 Keep it Real

    • Comics should be made and posted by real human beans, not by automated means like bots or AI. This is not the community for that sort of thing.
  4. 📽️ Credit Where Credit is Due

    • Comics should include the original attribution to the artist(s) involved, and be unmodified. Bonus points if you include a link back to their website. When in doubt, use a reverse image search to try to find the original version. Repeat offenders will have their posts removed, be temporarily banned from posting, or if all else fails, be permanently banned from posting.
    • Attributions include, but are not limited to, watermarks, links, or other text or imagery that artists add to their comics to use for identification purposes. If you find a comic without any such markings, it would be a good idea to see if you can find an original version. If one cannot be found, say so and ask the community for help!
  5. 📋 Post Formatting

    • Post an image, gallery, or link to a specific comic hosted on another site; e.g., the author's website.
    • Meta posts about the community should be tagged with [Meta] either at the beginning or the end of the post title.
    • When linking to a comic hosted on another site, ensure the link is to the comic itself and not just to the website; e.g.,
      ✅ Correct: https://xkcd.com/386/
      ❌ Incorrect: https://xkcd.com/
  6. 📬 Post Frequency/SPAM

    • Each user (regardless of instance) may post up to five (5 🖐) comics a day. This can be any combination of personal comics you have written yourself, or other author's comics. Any comics exceeding five (5 🖐) will be removed.
  7. 🏴‍☠️ Internationalization (i18n)

    • Non-English posts are welcome. Please tag the post title with the original language, and include an English translation in the body of the post; e.g.,
      Sí, por favor [Spanish/Español]
  8. 🍿 Moderation

    • We are human, just like most everybody else on Lemmy. If you feel a moderation decision was made in error, you are welcome to reach out to anybody on the moderation team for clarification. Keep in mind that moderation decisions may be final.
    • When reporting posts and/or comments, quote which rule is being broken, and why you feel it broke the rules.
Banned Artists

The following artists are banned from the community.

  1. Jago
  2. Stonetoss
  3. GPrime85

It should be noted that when you make reports, it is your responsibility to provide rational reasoning why something should be removed. Saying it simply breaks community rules is not always good enough.

Web Accessibility

Note: This is not a rule, but a helpful suggestion.

When posting images, you should strive to add alt-text for screen readers to use to describe the image you're posting:

Another helpful thing to do is to provide a transcription of the text in your images, as well as brief descriptions of what's going on. (example)
