I've always found it bizarre how AI companies are like "our AI is gonna destroy the world, that's why you should help us build it!"
The context is even weirder when it comes to this IPO as it listed in the section of items that could adversely effect the company’s ability to make money in the future…like wtf…at least finally someone is thinking of the shareholders 🤣
arstechnica editor: Hey Dario, what would you like today, the usual?
Dario: Yes hit me with a usual please
arstechnica: Anthropic whistleblowers claim that Claude AGI is coming any day now and can figure out how to open a black hole consuming the Earth itself
Then.. stop making it...
the spooky bullshit is to inflate its ipo.
Yes it is bullshit and pointing out that they should stop making it if it was true is calling them on that bullshit.
Terminator and The Matrix were cool movies, but I think the AI dudes misunderstood which parts were cool...
the people who told us that LLMs were going to usher in a utopia where nobody worked are now telling us that LLMs that can't stop hallucinating are gonna end the world.
I'll believe it when they can do arithmetic correctly.
Not the Onion
For true stories that are so ridiculous, that you could have sworn it was an !theonion worthy story.
