The secret elite are pulling those stock market levers and turning those stock market knobs again. The "small money" people using Questrade need to save us all! /s

[-] TerraRoot@sh.itjust.works 8 points 6 hours ago

Can I donate my old account to some bots?

[-] Polisheocket@lemmy.zip 27 points 11 hours ago

That’s when they perma banned me, your welcome

[-] Dayroom7485@lemmy.world 3 points 7 hours ago

Carrying the feed 💪

Zoom on how the stock market liked the decision to kick out all the lurkers:

fuck Reddit and fuck spez

[-] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 4 points 9 hours ago

also the new reddit UI, if you arent using any of the apps like redlib, or a reskin extension, is very cumbersome and unsable.

[-] logan_hero@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 7 hours ago

Redlib is also now unstable with rapid depreciation of rss feeds and old reddit. New community forks approach seems to be webscraping or using cookies like nitter.

[-] UPGRAYEDD@lemmy.world 3 points 8 hours ago

Not to mention reming the ability to view /all

[-] anarchy79@lemmy.world 23 points 11 hours ago

Russia gets its biggest refinery blown up, Reddit stock tanks, I did some coke, this has been a great Halloween.

[-] Scuba8291@lemmy.world 2 points 7 hours ago

It is going dooown dooown 🎶

[-] tough_cookies@lemmy.cafe 30 points 14 hours ago

It sucks to suck, Spez, you greedy pig boy.

[-] CaffeinatedCubits@programming.dev 27 points 14 hours ago

Requiring login is going to limit their ad revenue.

[-] antiR@lemmy.world 6 points 13 hours ago

Unfortunately, the login will just improve the personalization of ads.

[-] Spaniard@lemmy.world 3 points 9 hours ago

I am guessing they did the math and this came on top

Don't overestimate their intelligence.

Actually, do yourself a favour and listen to their q3 earnings report. These are some extremely cringy nerds with no value outside of having their forum become viral for being somewhat usable. Its obvious they have no idea what made Reddit usable and are trying to pivot into a live-service-esque walled garden.

They keep talking about making Reddit "Awesome", with more "interactive lived experiences" (actual quotes by spez during the earnings rep, I would have sold too.

[-] RaincoatsGeorge@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 hours ago

Cringy nerds is an understatement. They all think they’re Adonis ubermen and cannot stand even a few moments where they’re not aggressively huffing their own farts. They’re fucking losers. Fucking. Losers. Every single one of them.

I’m so tired of such fucking losers dictating our lives. It needs to stop. Nothing would make me happier than their shitty website just imploding. But that won’t happen now that we exist on a bot based economy.

[-] CaffeinatedCubits@programming.dev 2 points 3 hours ago

All the nerds are gone. It's just wallstreet Bros now

[-] DrunkenDuckling@lemmus.org 1 points 56 minutes ago

And whatever unholy amalgam spez is

[-] canttakeitwithyou@lemmy.zip 6 points 11 hours ago

It'll improve the personalization of ads that are shown to bots, but all the people have left.

[-] outerspace@lemmy.zip 4 points 11 hours ago

I don't know, every time google sends me to Reddit now and I see a login page I don't bother looking. Probably won't find anything useful inside anyway

[-] SirMaple__@lemmy.ca 46 points 17 hours ago
[-] someone@lemmy.today 12 points 14 hours ago

There's only 1 solution: Persona

Also google Play Integrity API, shutting down old.reddit.com for some reason and blocking all browsers except Chrome and Safari. Also retinal scans for new accounts, karma farming bots only allowed for old accounts with stolen credentials, and blocking anyone who refers to war crimes against Palestinians as genocide.

Also, a new helpful AI assistant called Reddy that replaces interacting with other users and recommends products and collects user data.

[-] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 2 points 9 hours ago

googles is in cahoots with reddit, if they want that data, they expect reddit to keep producing new AI-scrapable content.

Allowing nerds to ban your customers for even simple disagreements or using language they don't like... probably wasn't a smart business strategy

[-] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 7 points 13 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago)

I'm guessing a lot of the modding is also AI shit these days to stop people from mentioning topics that advertisers don't want, like israel and anything too "violent" like protests.

[-] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 3 points 9 hours ago

reddit gave AI tool for "Crowd control" and modding to moderators. i also heard they are limiting reporting on people to at the same time, i dont how that will work though.

It's pretty wild watching AI destroy it's own mother.

[-] OwOarchist@pawb.social 76 points 22 hours ago

That was always the plan.

1: Steal all the data.

2: Destroy the data sources.

3: Rent access to the data that only you now posses.
