Problem is by starting the video AND commenting you up the engagement.

[-] SalmiakDragon@feddit.nu 1 points 1 day ago

I've heard that your comment needs to be longer than three words to matter for enagement, or something.

[-] Leviathan@fedinsfw.app 2 points 1 day ago

Well then problem not a problem, I suppose.

[-] Noodle07@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Wait, I love a good written guide but for years everyone was doing YouTube videos instead.. Now I have to use AI to make me a written guide from a video I dont want to sit in front off ? Oh god I'm screwed either way

Funny enough, YouTube slop videos enrage me even more than slop pages.

or for the "author" of an article

[-] ThunderComplex@lemmy.today 70 points 1 day ago

I hate that this could kinda have two meanings:

  • This is AI slop so I’m not reading it
  • This is too long I ain’t reading allat, give me the AI summary
[-] saltesc@lemmy.world 123 points 1 day ago

It's just the first. The second would be TL;AI.

AI AI CAPTAIN!

[-] Janx@piefed.social 3 points 1 day ago

"Ooooooooh..."

[-] glibg10b@lemmy.zip 8 points 1 day ago

"This is AI slop; I'm not reading that. Give me an AI summary instead"

[-] Eq0@literature.cafe 45 points 1 day ago

I would vote for the first, mainly to follow the TLDR format

[-] adhdsergio@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

Yeah should be slop:dr

[-] Daxter101@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 day ago

Arguably, if someone wants an AI summary, the can easily get one, from their device. If someone wants a text to be non-slop though...

Yeah, I don't worry about the ai;dr expression that much myself, I think it will sort itself out with use.

[-] heartSagan5@lemmy.zip 9 points 1 day ago

Careful now, we'll start running around dropping this like "fake news" (when it's factual).

[-] halfapage@lemmy.world 27 points 1 day ago

make it llm;dr and we got a deal

[-] Yankee_Self_Loader@lemmy.world 20 points 1 day ago

si;dr final offer

/s if it wasn’t clear

[-] roserose56@lemmy.zip 21 points 1 day ago

Wake me up when AI ends by green day.

[-] wpb@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

What is sarcastic about "ai;dr"? Is the implication that people who say this actually did read it?

[-] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 13 points 1 day ago

Ai;dr something something you’re right and brilliant for asking.

[-] TrumpetX@programming.dev 8 points 1 day ago

Been using this one for quite a while now. Sometimes you need to share AI conversations for context. My rule of thumb is that I human summarize and contextualize like I would normally, then in a thread below it, fork off an ai;dr quoted reply. Makes it like optional reading.

[-] dragonbringerx@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

Ok, I don't get it. What is ai;dr supposed to stand for?

[-] SteveTech@aussie.zone 30 points 1 day ago

AI; Didn't read. It's the AI version of tl;dr (too long; didn't read).

[-] Pratai@piefed.ca 8 points 1 day ago

I’ll be using this.

[-] HerbalGamer@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 day ago

Is it when you give an incorrect but confident summary of an article?

[-] LodeMike@lemmy.today 5 points 1 day ago

I've seen this a year ago it isn't new

[-] HCSOThrowaway@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Okay, but some people think the use of capitalization and punctuation is proof positive the writing is AI.

And watch out if you know MarkDown or how to indent.

[-] HCSOThrowaway@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

-cue 'its not that deep'/'paragraphs'/DukeNukemI'mNotReadingAllThat.jpg spam-

[-] shalafi@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

In the same vein, I have invented a new word: Copegoat

In use: "When Trump dies, Vance will be the copegoat for all the things MAGA couldn't blame on him."

[-] tyler@programming.dev 3 points 1 day ago

Has been used for months. Not new.

[-] Ertain@feddit.online 2 points 1 day ago

Dang, these initialism are getting more complicated. It would be nice to have some variation on the word "summary".

[-] Zombie@feddit.uk 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Babe, wake up, new subliminal advertising tactic for Threads just dropped.

[-] 69420@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

ts;wr

Too slop; won't read

[-] DarkCloud@lemmy.world 0 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

That acts too much like a challenge rather than a warning/statement.

[-] Grandwolf319@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago

And here I thought we had peaked with slop, bravo internet
