Cheap politicians are bought cheaply.

[-] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 2 points 4 hours ago

elon is now jealous because she folded for that AIPAC money, not his own payoff money. He could've bought a Cybertruck with that. /s

Lmao. Shocked and heartbroken. Clueless from the start.

[-] BeardededSquidward@lemmy.blahaj.zone 21 points 16 hours ago

Man, centrist Democrats and leadership showing when the chips are down, there's progressives on the field, they cuddle up with Republicans.

Tbh she probably sealed the victory for el sayed, a lot of moderate dems were cold on him but stevens endorsement of rogers is so nakedly revolting that they're all gonna line up to vote against rogers even if they don't love the idea of El Sayed.

[-] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 18 points 19 hours ago

Shocked? I can understand heartbroken but shocked? Really?

Didn't see that coming a million miles away like a lot of us more left leaning and progressives did?

Maybe you guys should find a new profession then if you were shocked because you kind of suck at it.

We need to replace all the liberal democrats in our government with left leaning/DSA.

The people demand a party that will actually represent the working poor in this country, unapologetically, vehemently, with teeth, against corporations.

I hope she gets invited to every party held by the Republicans. Dumb cunt deserves it.

[-] EchoCT@lemmy.ml 21 points 21 hours ago

If you're ever in a leftist space and you hear: "Scratch a liberal and a fascist bleeds."

This is what we mean.

[-] ChonkyOwlbear@lemmy.world -1 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 3 hours ago)

What the hell do you think liberal means? Mist leftists are liberals.

[-] keb@lemmy.today 6 points 20 hours ago

That doesn't make any sense though, because the vast majority of politicians condemning her are liberals.

Honestly I don't think the Democrats even want the Senate because they will have to come up with excuses as to why they can't get anything done. Schumer won't do fuck all especially if Bibi doesn't approve. Need to get rid of Schumer if you want any actual change.

[-] Formfiller@lemmy.world 19 points 23 hours ago

She is going to be an AIPAC lobbyist now

She does Democrat stuff in most of her policies, but she also has large donations from aipac, is converting to Judaism through marriage and she also lost to Abdul in 2019, I think. They never liked each other and she's petty for letting that get in the way of working for the people like Abdul says he will.

[-] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 10 points 20 hours ago

Fun fact: you can convert to Judaism without becoming a racist and supporting genocide and selling out your party and ideology.

[-] UltraMagnus0001@lemmy.world 3 points 19 hours ago

Just painting a picture of her possible mineset

[-] davepleasebehave@lemmy.world 51 points 1 day ago

So does the republican party have a load of sleeper agents in the democratic party that it activates when needed?

[-] mushroommunk@lemmy.today 26 points 1 day ago

It's not Republicans, it's Israel and it's both parties. Israel is worried because the progressive candidates have a real chance this election and are performing on not spending billions on Israel as well as health and wealth reform.

[-] Gates9@sh.itjust.works 15 points 1 day ago

Is the Democratic Party fundamentally a right-wing party?

[-] marxismtomorrow@lemmy.today 12 points 23 hours ago

Yes. The original meaning of left wing and right wing were the radical and conservative wings of the French parliament; the former being for liberalism, the later for monarchism. It has since kept its same meaning, progression or regression.

The DNC's official party stances are objectively regression. Progression, at this stage of socioeconomic development for the US, would be socialism. Actually it'd just be social capitalism since we have the worst social safety net of all advanced economies in world history, but given the party's opposition to medicare for all, it cannot even manage that.

The left wing starts at anti-capitalism in all places with established capitalist markets.

[-] PowerCrazy@lemmy.ml 1 points 14 hours ago

No. It's not that she was a "secret republican" it's that there isn't a difference when it comes to supporting Israel, or being owned by a Capitalist. Sure maybe she doesn't think gay-people should be burned at the stake. But she is absolutely in support of public-private markets, which is the only thing that capitalists give a fuck about. No one is getting paid to be a bigot, but if they were, people like Steven's would absolutely be trying to get in on that.

[-] Yuccagnocchiyaki@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago

No. AIPAC mostly funds Democrats, who are neoliberal. So we only have two right wing parties. There isn't anyone to "activate". Corporate Dems believe in business interests as a priority and that is how they behave.
