Once I decompiled the contol app for a cheap chinese vibrator. The vibrator uses Bluetooth LE to talk to the phone app, the phone app connects to chinese servers and offers remote control and chat functionality.
Spiciest thing I found in the App was a list of words (mostly Chinese) you are forbidden to use, stuff like references to Tianmen. Yes the sex toy app had a cleartext list of political and kinky forbidden words it will locally filter out.
