Because a lot of people think it's a bad idea?

I'm not interested in arguing whether it's a good idea or not, but is the concept of marketing alien to these people?

Or, like, public education. I mean the live exports thing is surely a pack of lies, but absolutely the government should be able to spend money on public education. This is a (rare) bad take from the spin-off

In this case, it isn't the government spending the money though - it's a lobbying group for the agricultural industry.

$1 million for an advertising campaign is chump change. It seems like a lot to the average person, but that gets eaten up really fast in a large business, and you're talking about a national campaign that affects multiple industries. That's not much at all.
