This site lists the communities on -shall not be named- that have either migrated or are also located on different sites. It also lists whether it is the official community or a spin off. A very helpful tool for those who have rid of -shall not be named- and have forgotten communities they once followed.

When Sync for Reddit show a popup promoting Sync for Lemmy, it should also point to this kind of service, to ease the migration. It would also be nice, if sync for Lemmy also had a shortcut.

Besides that a link to a more general community directory like https://lemmyverse.net/ would be nice to have.

Found it on Reddit. It's most probably incomplete, but it has a "Suggest link" button.

The rules for submitting a link are (as of recent):

  • No links to communities who break their service's ToS or share any illegal content (this should be self-explanatory).
  • Link must be an alternative to an existing subreddit. I don't see sub.rehab as a general fediverse directory (for now).
  • Community must have a minimal amount of activity. I am thinking - at least 3 posts that are not submitted by the community's moderator team. This does not apply for communities that are verified and proven as official replacements of the original subreddit

There are lists that provide the equivalent communities to Reddit subs. It should aid discovery and help provide a more seamless user experience for those who have yet to make the jump, so consider adding any communities that you start:

Apparently, it's a site that lets people on particular subreddits find alternatives.

[Ed. Note: if you see that a subreddit you want to follow is on kbin.social, don't fret. You can still subscribe to kbin "magazines" directly from lemmy.ninja. You will find details on how to do this in our New User FAQ.

Someone recently asked if there was a neat way to see where all of the now broken down subreddits moved.

Some moved to Discord, some to Lemmy, and some are somewhere else.

This seems to be a good place to find your communities again: https://sub.rehab/

Found this on a reddit post. If someone has created an alterante to a reddit community you can post submit the link there. This might help with activity.

This is a helpful website for finding out where your subreddit communities moved to.

We should probably submit a request to include our communities here as subreddit alternatives:

There are some other similar sites we could also update to as well:
