Ugh the comparison shopping is the worst. I know some people love it, but I just get frustrated after a bit.

Good weekend so far. Got up and did some house cleaning, even got to open up the doors and windows for a bit before the wind made it a bit too cold. Got a good friend group coming over like we do every Sunday afternoon, just a chill day at home. No school for the kids this week, so routine will be a bit off.

Warmed up enough in Ōtautahi to open the doors and windows for a bit when doing some morning cleaning. A bit of a breeze made it too chilly though. Supposed to get cold again soon after the sun goes down, so we will be running the heat pumps too I assume.

Cool video. I hadn't thought of that, but of course it makes sense!

Unrelated question for anyone out there: I'm using the Liftoff app, and this link only opens in the Liftoff app.. Is there a way to easily get it to open in the YouTube app instead? Making the video full screen doesn't quite work as it is.

I'm using Liftoff at the moment and I much prefer it to Jerboa so far. I used to use Boost for Reddit so I'm hoping that it's even better when it comes out, but I don't have any real complaints with Liftoff.

Source? Last I heard they offered 10 Billion and Discord said no.

Sorry, maybe it's just because I'm using a new app for lemmy, but what's the link? All I get is an image.

If it's anything like Boost for Reddit was, it's unnoticeable. Every 20 or so posts you'll see an ad and just scroll past, no animations or sound. I think I recall seeing a bottom banner? Any other Boost users confirm? I really just ignored it so I can't recall.

My point is, ads were non-obstructive

In case you're interested, the instances blocking hundreds of other instances are likely doing one of two things.

Both cool insights, thanks! Also wow... 8,000 bots in a night lol.. thanks again for running this instance, I'm sure I'm not alone in saying I appreciate it.

Cool! Yeah I've heard of that one. Was that the one everyone was banning a week or two ago, and they were all upset about it?

When browsing that list, one of the top ones by users was Lemmy NSFW, but I've never seen a post labeled NSFW on my All feed, and I just checked both apps I've used (Jerboa and Liftoff) and they both have show NSFW enabled. Is that filtered or do they just have a lot of users and nothing gets posted up promoted enough to be seen? I've seen stuff from most of the other top instances fairly frequently.

By the way, for those interested, here's what I was looking at: https://github.com/maltfield/awesome-lemmy-instances

I was thinking about it the other day when making lunches, but honestly I don't think I would make the fruit bars and muesli bars. I'm not a great food prep/cook type person, and I doubt I'd put in the energy/practice required to get better. It may just come down to not using the boxed and then individually wrapped things like we do currently.

Yeah I haven't seen anything on bringing deli containers, I was just saying it would need to be that way to avoid deli and butcher single use plastics. I bet I could do it at countdown.. they'd just need to tare the scale with my glassware before putting the product in it instead of the plastic bag. I haven't tried.
