I did contact the mod team, but they have issues eg. making false claims like this

They also have beef with r/Buy_European on reddit https://old.reddit.com/r/Buy_European/comments/1j6jeg3/the_other_buyeuropean_sub_is_apparently_now/

Checkout https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/c/fedibridge it's commited to helping guide people to Lemmy.

I like to use something like

Try out the European-Hosted Reddit alternative called Lemmy, https://phtn.app/

It also has a mobile app: https://vger.app/settings/install

To guide people.

Selling weapons to people is fine if you're military is 10x the size of all of theirs combined.

We "can" attack the US, but not a fuck are we ever going to.

I would think that any decent military would stockpile any spare parts they would need to 2 years.

I understand if the supply stops they will eventually run out, but this is basic assurances that I'd think any military worth its salt would have in place when buying weapons.

My thoughts exactly, I can't imagine a military paying 100 million per F35, that somebody can just turn off remotely, leaving them dead in the water.

I've seen a few articles now that US fighter jets have kill switches in them, so the US could just render them useless for anyone they've sold them to.

Is this true? It sounds insane to me, I've always assumed that countries that buy these jets have full control over them. It's a gaping hole in your defence if you don't.

it's basically already hosted since https://phtn.app/ defaults to lemm.ee

but clean url's matter so I think having p.lemm.ee would make a difference I feel

Also it handles sharing links a lot better

I have a Zigbee dongle, so Matter works on WiFi hardware? I don't need a extra dongle?

When promoting lemm.ee I refer people to https://phtn.app/ because if I just point them to lemm.ee they in mass complain about how shit the UI is. (I'm not saying it is, that's what others say)

But saying join lemm.ee and then directing them to https://phtn.app/ also seems weird and dodgy. (I've been called out for this)

I'm probably going to self host, as well as back up to secure cloud storage.

That way if my house burns down, I still have a backup.

Fantastic, hoping to see more Matter devices, I wonder what a hub will cost to connect HA to Matter

I've created an account with your referral thanks.

I'm checking out the service, but I'll probably self host if I like it since I already have a mini-PC i host stuff on.

I've switched my email etc. to https://infomaniak.com/

I'm planning on move all my media out of google photos but I really like the ability to search by a persons face, or to search "Dog" and then it'll show me all my pictures with dogs in them.

I have 100k photos, so having search functionality like this is curtail.

Just an idea, but it would be cool to have https://boards.rossmanngroup.com/ part of the Fediverse

I would love to sometimes filter out any and all political posts, I think having this enabled as default on some instances would also be preferred by some users.

I'm a software dev, if it doesn't require a lot of work I'm happy to make a Pull Request for this feature, but do people want this? Is there anyone I should maybe talk to before starting, or anything I should know?

Edit: I realise it won't filter out ALL political posts, but even if it only catches half of the stuff, it could make the difference between being flooded with Trump/Musk news and not.

Some new users might turn away before knowing the can set filters etc. (which also aren't perfect)

piefed.social is a very popular instance, and I feel it's really beginner friendly, why isn't it an option on Voyager?

I found a super simple way to refer people to Lemmy.

One simple message:

Try out the Reddit alternative called Lemmy https://phtn.app/

It also has a mobile app: https://vger.app/settings/install

This way a user can just click, start seeing content and what Lemmy is about, and if they want to comment etc. they will be asked to create an account with lemm.ee selected as a default.

This should fix most of the onboarding UX issues, and eliminate the decision fatigue of trying to figure out which instance is best.
