After some discussion among Flashpoint staff and community members, we have decided to move to a new Lemmy instance.

lemm.ee was chosen for the new instance over other instances as it's federated with more major instances whereas some larger instances are defederated with each other (see beehaw with shitjustworks and lemmy.world).

This community will be left up for another week before being deleted to give those following us here an opportunity to follow the new community there.

We might have some big news waiting for you in the new space, so we'll see you there 👀

Hi all!

We know you all have been waiting patiently for a new Flashpoint release since 11.1, but rest assured that Flashpoint 12's release is drawing ever closer!

So what's all new to the project?

Name Change

Well, you may have noticed we've changed the name of our socials, including here on Lemmy. As you may know, BlueMaxima has stepped down as the project lead, and with that we've been discussing the project's name. After numerous name suggestions, and a vote being held, it seemed as if what was wanted was simplicity, which is why we've changed our name from "BlueMaxima's Flashpoint" to "Flashpoint Archive".

Our Discord Server

Additionally, we've made many changes to our Discord server! The help channel has been changed from the old chat to a new forums layout to better organize and target help for specific issues that our users are facing. We've also changed the names of a few channels in the server in order to help people better navigate the community.

If you simply can't wait to see what Flashpoint 12 has in store, then you're in luck! We have a preview launcher for you all to try out, but be aware there may be some bugs!

Current mod hasn't been active in two years. I'm hoping on making the community a bit more active with related memes, discussion topics, and introducing a-spec people I know to the community.

I'm wanting to create a new community here on Lemmy, but I'm worried that it won't gain any traction unless I advertise it a little bit. Is there a community where people can advertise newly made communities?

Flashpoint is joining many other communities on Reddit by going dark in protest to the newly proposed API changes.

We've just created a new Mastodon account on the Fosstodon instance! We plan on posting regularly there about web games and project updates, and are looking forward to seeing you there!
