Not spaying and neutering can cause behavioural issues (marking territory, aggression)if the pet goes through puberty. So it's not just sterilisation.
Make up your own mind on whether that makes it ok or not though.
Pull by digest just ensures that people end up running an ancient version, vulnerabilities and all long after any issues were patched, so that isn't a one-size-fits-all solution either.
Most projects are well behaved, so pulling latest makes sense, they likely have fixes that you need. In the case of an actually malicious project, the answer is to not run it at all. Huntarr showed their hand, you cannot trust any of their code.

Many governments are jacking up prices on alcohol, for the obvious health detriments. Instead of doing it across the board, they could make take home alcohol cost significantly more, but bar/pub/restaurant alcohol significantly cheaper, on the understanding that its a lot harder to problem drink in a public place with a bartender who will cut you off.
It would encourage moderated drinking in social places, discourage excessive home drinking. Doesnt completely solve the health issues though.

Exactly this. Company statements have zero basis in reality, they should be ignored unless they actually back them up with evidence or data.
No one forced apple to announce AI. They could have just waited until they had something ready.
As a developer (not affiliated with either of those projects), you have to understand a couple of points:

Adding features means increased maintenance burden. Any feature that is added must be tested and maintained, and once released, often cannot be changed without significant user push back.

Users often have no idea what they actually want. If a project just implements what every user asks for, it'll end up being a disjointed mess of a project. Developers have to draw a line somewhere.

Unless someone is paying for the work, developers have zero incentive to make changes. A democratic committee can make all the requests they like, but unless the developers are on board, nothing will happen. (Also, tying into 2, but good luck getting a committee of users to agree on anything)
The only real answer is to fork the software, make the changes and hope that either everyone switches to your fork, or the upstream accepts the changes. That is the Open Source way of doing things.

We do have guns though, they are protected behind proper background checks and licences. And we dont fetishish them the same way many Yanks do. Definitely far fewer semi-auto and full auto guns though.
If you keep your eyes open, there are a number of gun shops around, often in quite unexpected locations. There is one near my local kebab shop, and its very subtle, so many people dont even notice it.
