And they deleted their account 🤷

Remove mine too, it will look powerful in front of your buddies

You understand that I have no ability to moderate midwest.social whatsoever, right? Do you think the midwest.social admins and I are in a secret cabal, when they’re liberals and I’m a communist?

It’s pretty clear who’s the uncivil jackass in this exchange.

Really don’t think Head Troll is to be trusted

Ask any admin from any given instance, and they’ll tell you the same thing. Notice how a midwest.social admin has removed the bullshit comment, because it was bullshit.

This is just embarrassing. I think mangobanana is Will Stancil’s alt account.

I doubt it would have been all that different, because those laws would have been written by the same capitalist class that runs corporate social media today.

Social media was not a mistake, but unregulated social media was.

You’re so right, the open source, non-profit threadiverse would be so much better if bourgeois states censored us.

It’s almost as if bourgeois democracy were a scam that the working class keeps falling for.

Autocorrect strikes again

[-] davel@lemmy.ml 4 points 11 hours ago

No surprise: Imperial core human rights NGOs are a psyop of empire.

[-] davel@lemmy.ml 3 points 12 hours ago

Bullshit. As an admin, I can see the votes.

[-] davel@lemmy.ml 6 points 12 hours ago

Go to the Midwest and ask them if they would ever vote for a black woman regardless of party.

For the sake of argument, let’s assume that’s true, in which case the Democratic party would have known from polling that running Harris was a losing strategy. So then why did they run her? Why did they cancel the primary and undemocratically force her down our throats?

In this video, I examine the historical 'MEET-MEAT' contrast in English, and the ways in which some dialects have managed to retain it to some extent into modern times. Vowel contrasts and mergers are a big topic in historical linguistics, and I've tried to use this one as a bit of an 'in' to the concept in general. I'm hoping it will also appeal to learners of English, as it clarifies one of the many idiosyncrasies of the spelling system - the difference between 'ee' and 'ea' spellings despite their identical pronunciation in a lot of word pairs.
