Friendly reminder, because I'm just this petty when it comes to assholes like Musk.

He's not the richest man in the world. He's the richest man in the world dumb enough to talk about it.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 1 points 5 minutes ago

you're not wrong, but lets just be honest here, half the time they're just making shit up anyways.

It also misrepresented the reasons for removal.

It was spammy, many of them seemed… uh… racist. None were particularly funny, and most seem fairly low effort.

He parked it in the valet drive.

Not something somebody who wants a body count would necessarily do; compared to driving it into a lobby.

Aside from a cybertruck being shit at off road; it’s very heavy and there’s no bollards or other barriers to stop him.

Is it a possibility? Sure.

But it’s also a possibility that he had the kero and gas for other reasons like a party in the desert, and it was all just an accident.

Apparently he was a self avowed “defender of fireworks” and seemed to be, how shall we say, an ardent trump supporter.

Good point on the generator thing.

But yeah. At worst this was some kinda weird symbolic thing rather than a “try to kill as many people as I can” thing.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 30 points 10 hours ago (11 children)

Even if it was symbolic it feels weird.

Kerosene and gas? Fireworks? Sounds more like a party in the desert. Also the gas can was an old metal gas can- there’s a reason you can’t really get those anymore. (Hint- they leak and blow up your truck.)

No obvious mechanism and the timing? Sure he could have lit a fuse with a lighter, but, eh. Just as easily have been a faulty electrical system setting off a spark.

Also Tesla/musk has good motive to want it to be intentional. (cybertrucks already have safety problems. And a lot of them have to do with bad wiring.)

Trump has good reason to want to push this guy as a terrorist- namely the drama.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 1 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Sure. If it was intentional.

I knew the doors were locked.

Didn’t know they donated the geolocation data.

There’s reasons I won’t ever drive a Tesla.

Still more useful than Kai Wyn.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 3 points 15 hours ago

I’m not sure that .world or lemmy at large even has that ability. normally mods would just yeet the entire comment.

It could have been an attempt at humor, or something. I dunno.

What I do know is that it’s not censored now.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 6 points 15 hours ago

Oh yeah.

There’s a reason that Musk doesn’t want to provide accident reports to the NHTSA.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 3 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Agreed that’s weird, no question there, but I don’t think that’s on lemmy or .world. I’m pretty sure they don’t have the ability to censor specific words like that- the response from mods or admin would be to just remove the comment.

Let’s just be honest, censoring single words is stupid. For one thing, I guarantee you my imagination is going to fill in a much interesting alternative.

Finally got him! (lemmy.world)

I’ve been getting trolled most the year by a GHO- they’d set up above my window and hoot until I went outside to try and get a picture.

Eventually set up a webcam… jerk used it for a perch (and flew in and off from behind… all it saw were its talons…)

Whelp. It’s grainy. But I finally got ‘em.

(Very) Early Christmas Day. There was at least four others calling out, maybe 5-6, some were distant, so they were too bothered to hide from me.

Granted, I was going to slap it onto one of my parent’s shiny kitchen appliances and make jokes about it being a mistake to let them have WiFi…. But still…..

Hooo?

Saw this going to a friend’s house- they bagged the fire hydrants….one thought was snow; but this is the first year apparently. And snow has been a mild issue this year compared to most.

Snow on Thursday.
