I'll be sure not to disappoint.

I'm usually great at inspiring people, though I do have a kryptonite that keeps my superpowers in check; lack of money. 😉

Beautiful morning today. Massive overnight improvement in mood.

I've been doing a lot of research on sailboat and yachting regulations. It turns out that you [are] allowed to leave NZ territorial waters and sail wherever you want, as long as you don't enter the waters of another country (unless you have Cat 1 safety certificate & clearance).

I can go ahead and order my timber from Mitre 10 now. Hurry up and build that catamaran before they make it illegal. I've lived in far too many rat-infested caravans and boarding houses to believe that these w_____s care about my health and safety.

Stayed up till 4am last night. Had a dream about being chased by the monsters from the TV show 'From'.

Was having so much fun.. but then I woke up, and now I'm back to reality. :(

Average price of a moldy, rat-infested house going from $1,000,000 to $5,000,000NZD.

Good for people who own property I guess, including my future self. But I want nothing to do with this corruption. Time to shop for other potential countries to be a citizen of.

Just went to Mitre 10 to get some tools ready for my 34ft modular catamaran build.

Fingers crossed that I'll be able to get a mooring for a custom-built vessel. I will likely have to employ a bay hopping strategy to avoid being labeled as a permanent liveaboard, and never stay in the same place for more than 1-2 days - in order to get away with never paying rent again. Maybe even leave the country. Perhaps I could help the locals fighting against rising sea levels in Tuvalu, Kiribati or Marshall Islands...

Wait for the special votes. Back in 1999 - The Greens won 7 extra seats from special votes alone.

Beautiful sunny day today.

Just rode down to the local NZ Post to ship another TradeMe purchase. I think at this rate I may be able to run an online retail business focused on delivering wholesale Chinese goods to kiwis who are willing to pay a couple of bucks extra to not have to wait months for shipping, or to pick it up at my front door.

If I become a massive hit - I should be able to earn.............................. half the minimum wage, I guess.

Not much today. Just had some noodles with freshly harvested kale, from my backyard - of which I now have a practically infinite supply. In addition to 1 mandarin tree, 1 lemon tree, 1 feijoa tree, 1 plum tree and 2 avocado trees (albeit small in size at the moment).

I'm going hard on the homesteading lifestyle, to the point where I could theoretically even produce my own prescription medications, if it came down to it. Simply reading about it brings me so much peace of mind. That, and slowly growing my TradeMe store.

Wouldn't call myself a prepper. More of an economic survivalist - because to me, we're already in the apocalypse. 😉

If anyone wants to put money toward buying a plot of land, and filling it up with tiny houses - with a giant community farm - I'm down!

Agreed on the lack of protests and movements regarding the housing crisis and cost of living.

People would rather go out there and do the classic Trumper vs. Antifa / Protest vs. Counterprotest, than get together on matters of class and poverty. It almost seems like it is done on purpose to direct attention away from the things that actually matter.

With that out of the way - I voted for the Green Party this week. I know it's depressing to see lousy and incompetent parties, but complaining is always easier than doing something. We also need actual foot-on-the-ground movement building - which means meeting people face to face in order to get together not just for public demonstrations, but also doing work in the community like meals for the homeless, etc. (which also helps spread awareness to the general cause)
