So it is from the perspective of experience that I will tell you, the quality of our military will plummet when absolutely no one gives a fuck about being there. There were gung ho motherfuckers who really wanted to be in the army and they were good soldiers. Then there were those of us who were just there to fuck off. You don't want 100x as many of those. The military would just be absolute garbage.

The military certainly has the money. Build a single less B-1 (or whatever the new hotness stealth airplane or destroyer is) and you could probably house every single homeless vet. Maybe every homeless person. Idk but those things are insanely expensive.

Hiring her was a lapse of judgment. The rest of it sounds like a good time. BDSM relationships involving power exchange can be healthy but there is a huge risk that a messy breakup can go this way.

However as we grow as people, we can recontextualize our experiences and decide that hey this was really unhealthy and he should've known it was unhealthy and that she wasn't capable of consenting, and that could even be right. Some people give enthusiastic consent and it turns out to be some PTSD trauma response. Given the number of people in kink with trauma in their past, the lines can get really blurry.

It sucks to get to the end of social media. On Reddit I could always find plenty of posts with hundreds of comments and many were worth reading or replying to. Lemmy absolutely has good content and good comments, but you can get to the end where there's no more. It probably doesn't help that I've been much quicker to block people over the cut of their jib. I don't come here to argue or hate people more than I already do, so I spend a lot less time and words embroiled in pointless conflict.

But I still haven't been back to Reddit and won't. When I get to the end of content I find myself going to TikTok or Instagram - two things that I've never liked but at least it's a stress free way to kill time, just louder.

Biden is fine. A lot of people are looking for someone who is going to revolutionize things overnight. A lot of folks also like to give the President blame or credit for things out of his control. Overall I've been pleasantly surprised. All I really wanted was not Trump, but Biden has been a lot better than that.
