OK, sounds way beyond me :-D Would like to see a screen shot of it though. I really need to up my farm & redstone game!

This is really great! I've also been quite lost but am enjoying the learning process!

One thing I've just learned is that all the different instances don't neccessarily 'federate' with each other in real time (there can be some lag in content showing up in your instance) or at all. Only instances your instance federates with sync up? I think? :-) I see beehaw.org have had to cut ties to a couple of instances to help with the flood of new users and content happening right now. It seems while you can still view their content from your instance you can't comment or post to it? I think? :-)

Wow! Amazing!

Nice! What design did you use? Is it very compact? Easily buildable in the early game?

Great pics! And now I have a Pixelfed account! :-)

Wait, what?!? I'm so lost!? I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually just by trying things but it sounds like you're saying if I follow you on Mastodon I'll see your Lemmy comments start to show up? AND I can reply to them over there? I've just tried that but it doesn't seem to be doing that? I'm very new to both so I'm just barely starting to wrap my head around the possiblities.

I've switched completely from twitter to mastodon after they let the sink in (but I was mostly just a lurker there, it was never really my type of thing) and now I've more or less moved completely from reddit to here (will definitley check out fediservices.nz too). So far I'm liking what I see

I think that's a good attitude. If someone else is really keen to mod it and keep it going let them have at it but you can create a community over here for those looking to make the move

I hope that most of the subs I used to frequent eventually pop up here (many already are here in some form) but if not I think I'd still rather be here with all that's been going on over there lately. BUT often there's good trouble shooting content or info about super specific niches which I might occasionally refer to. At the end of the day I'm just looking for a place to discuss / read about communities I'm interested in and I can see this providing that even IF it never reaches the critical mass of reddit.

I only remember the two times I've actually been hit. One time the driver did the old indicate and turn left in front of me in one motion, no prior warning, didn't check the rear view mirror, just turned straight through me to go down a side street. My brake lever scrapped all the way down the side of their SUV and I fell off my bike but was otherwise fine. They didn't stop, just drive off.

The second time a car on a give way/yield pulled out of a side street and drove straight through me breaking my leg, scooping me into their bonnet and dropping me onto the road as they stopped. It was broad daylight, I was in a painted cycle lane, I was wearing a hi vis jacket and they were on a give way. They just drive through me like I wasn't even there. They did at least stay with me until the police and ambulance arrived.

I've moved from Twitter to Mastodon and Reddit to Lemmy and am so far loving both. Even though they're taking a bit to get used to they're mostly pretty straight forward and familiar feeling in how they work. I will definitely miss certain subreddits but many of them are already here in some form or in the process of moving over. I really love the distributed model that is not at the behest of a single corporate entity or billionaire.
