All looks good buddy! All compatible with one another, and yeah I'd say that'll easily last you 7 years! The only recommendation I'd give is - do you need this PC today? Nvidia just announced the 4070 super today with 20% more cores and 16gb of vram. It may outperform the 7800xt for the same price, but, if it does, your 7800xt may get a 50-100 dollar reduction. So give it a couple of weeks and I feel you'll either:

  • Get a better GPU for the same price
  • Get the same GPU you already want for less

Currently looking after son and not having much access to my pc - so give me a few hours and I can look for you. Intel and amd are effectively the same - you really don’t need to know much to use either. Plug and play most of the time, but with the amd processor using like 200 watts less electricity to get the same performance

Hmmm how come the 14700k if you don’t mind me asking?

The 7800x3d outperforms it in 90% of gaming scenarios, and is cheaper both for processor, and motherboard

Hi again!

Just tested the USB-C Earpods on my Galaxy S7, and can confirm they do everything you want!

Pressing the buttons turns the volume up, down, and pressing the centre plays/pauses.

As I said in my previous post, be warned that since it's usb-c, not all devices may support it (e.g. I put the same earpods in my OLED switch and it didn't even detect them).

I've now tested them in the following:

Steam Deck - Works perfectly Galaxy S7 - Works perfectly OLED Switch - Does not work at all Macbook pro - Works perfectly iPhone 15 pro max - Works perfectly

If you have any other questions let me know!

Commenting so I don’t forget - I have the usb-c EarPods, and have a Galaxy s7, so will test in a bit once the 5 month old in my arms falls asleep and I charge the dev device.

I tried the EarPods in my oled switch and it didn’t work, so I’m curious too

Mannn I still remember how r/place was advertised in the past. “Reddit had x million people contribute to this, it’s a social science, it’s good for advertisers!” Etc. people are addicts and don’t realise how they’re feeding the machine

How is lemmy’s logo on r/place an advertisement? 99.9% of people won’t know what the logo is, and if it’s written, it’ll make no dent to traffic whatsoever.

No, some people just don’t understand that the companies continue getting away with this because they’re right - Reddit is apparently an essential service that people can’t live without.

Do better and delete Reddit for good

I’ve recently become a father, and you would not believe how valuable it is. There are many instances I wanna play but need to hold my child in my arms. Can’t do that at my pc on a desk in the office, but on a sofa with the steam deck? Perfect
