Not really, I'm allowed to not like them, it's not like I wish them harm or anything, I just don't much care for them
Yeah, they should publish on f-droid or direct APK as well
EDIT: Just remembered the new android "feature" that restricts what apps you can install from off the play store to Google approved ones...still worth doing for those of us on AOSP OSes
Can't disagree there. I don't even use it, I just prefer when people take a stand
Tbf they say windows is WIP and they support Mac which has an even lower bar than windows IMO
I do take it seriously and I think he's overreacting a little but he does make a reasonable point. Bringing 2 languages into the kernel does create a divide that can come with a maintenance burden. The burden is probably worth the benefits but it's still an additional burden and that is a valid concern IMO that should be properly addressed and argued with pros/cons rather than name calling and dismissal. Maybe he is acting in bad faith, but I feel like that should only be the conclusion drawn AFTER a reasonable attempt to talk things over has been made.
Additionally assuming someone is acting in bad faith when they're not can make them jaded with the rust community and push them to actually acting with bad faith even if they weren't before.
Regardless of the situation and whether he's acting in bad faith or not I feel like marcan's comments add nothing productive to the situation and that was my real point with the comment.
You put https in your link but there seems to be a certificate issue. The site works over http just fine tho
If you can't change your default shell that's not really a lesson you should have to learn. You should be able to set your own default shell and this is coming from someone who's shell preference is bash.
Ollama is also a cool way of running multiple models locally
Yes I do lol, not very often I get recognized in the wild. Hello.
The mention of iOS 16 having 66% of system binaries not using swift is very interesting. I'm actually curious as to the equivalent number on Android. How many system APKs currently don't use kotlin?
I get making fun of java's verbosity for things like checked exceptions but hello world really isn't that much worse than most other languages especially considering all the "boilerplate" is required for any program more complicated than hello world in pretty much every language. But if a useless program really is too verbose for you see java 21.
void main() {
System.out.println("hello world");
}

As others have said I wouldn't recommend testing as it doesn't get security updates, however I personally run sid (unstable) and have for a long time now. At least since 2020 if I recall, it does occasionally break, albeit anecdotally less than my friends arch system, can't comment on if that's the distro or just our individual setups. The main reason I run it is because I like debian, I'm very familiar with apt, with its initramfs tools, with all of the debianisms but I wanted something rolling. I tried arch but it just wasn't as comfy for me personally. That being said it is a bit like hard mode, there is no arch wiki, if you don't do heavy customization that might be ok, sometimes I've wanted to tweak my initramfs and while I know the debian generator better than arch, there's far less easily accessible documentation on it. In general it's been such a good experience that I basically stopped distro hopping, it's been my home now for a long time but I know I'm in the minority with that so take it as you will.
