Agreed.

I was asking why they must serve our needs.

That's certainly a definition.

(As a genuine question) How dos that definition account for the placebo effect ?

edit: re-read this and realised it sounded significantly more confrontational than i intended, so i added bracket context.

How did you get from natural selection to responsibility here , I'm not following the logic?

Perhaps that's not what your doing and you mean something else ?

It's optional not to buy a car but it certainly limits your access to things.

Im a wired headphones person and even I think that battery death is a bullshit reason.

The jack jack has a finite number of uses, as does the flexibility of the wire, many other components also aren't indestructible.

You are absolutely going to need some peer review or corroborating reference for an article produced and published by an organisation who's entire success premise is based on a particular outcome to said article.

That's "A study on how smoking does not cause lung cancer posted on the Marlboro website" levels of suspected bias.

It's probably legit, but it looks suspicious.

So, two things unrelated to the actual topic being discussed.

I’ll pretend your choice of words isn’t low-key confrontational and dismissive like every other comment on this site

It's entirely possible to be correct and do it in such a way that invites confrontation and dismissal.

If it seems like everyone apart from you is confrontational and dismissive, perhaps it's time to consider additional perspectives on why that might be happening.
