I know it's going to be a really bad 4 years for everyone (Americans and Canadians both in this context), but I'm really excited to see the "leopards eating my face" content that'll be coming up.

Ik ik it's wrong as innocent people will suffer a lot, but still... I'm really excited to see what the fascists have to say when inflation goes through the roof due to their beloved Fuhrer's new sales taxes.

Funny comic.

On a serious note though - AI is advanced means of production. All of it might not be 100% production ready today, but it's getting there soon. Our goal must be to seize this means of production (make AI companies publicly owned with a consumer cooperative operational model). Denying its existence only serves the interests of the bourgeoisie, as it makes us unprepared when it actually starts replacing jobs en masse.

Daddy as in father or daddy is in lover?

If it's daddy as in father, then why live in Bhutan?

Serious question. What's causing this massive uptick of cat posts? My entire feed is just cats right now

I was SOOOO WAITING for the Fediverse name drop considering how MUCH they were implying this at the end of the video.

Australia won the final match of the 2023 Men's Cricket World Cup against India by 6 wickets. The match was played in Ahmedabad, India at the Narendra Modi Stadium. This final win makes it the 6th time that Australia wins the Men's Cricket World Cup. This match also ended up being the first match that India lost in this tournament.

This is how I understand the communist utopia: Workers seize means of production. Means of production thus, start working for the proletariat masses rather than the bourgeoisie class. Thus, technological progress stops being stifled and flourishes. Humanity achieves a post scarcity-like environment for most goods and services. Thus, money becomes irrelevant at a personal level.

In all this, I can’t see how we stop needing a state. How can we build bridges without a body capable of large scale organisation? How would we have a space program without a state for example? I clearly have gotten many things wrong here. However, I’m unable to find what I’ve gotten wrong on my own. Plz help <3

Edit: Okay, got a very clear and sensible answer from @Aidinthel@reddthat.com. Unfortunately, I don't know how to link their comment. Hence, here is what they said:

Depends on how you define “state”. IIRC, Marx drew a distinction between “state” and “government”, where the former is all the coercive institutions (cops, prisons, courts, etc). In this framework, you need a “government” to do the things you refer to, but participation in that government’s activities should be voluntary, without the threat of armed government agents showing up at your door if you don’t comply.

I'm developing a fediverse application and am torn between using lemmy and kbin for the backend. Private messages are a very important feature that I want to include. Does Kbin support private messaging users the way lemmy does?

Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) national secretary Tejinder Pall Singh Bagga on Monday made a sensational claim, saying killed Sikh separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar was gay and that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau used to like him.

His statement comes amid a diplomatic standoff between India and Canada that ensued after Trudeau alleged the Indian government was involved in Nijjar's killing. India has asked Canada to provide proof to back the allegations but none have come yet.
