A Short Stay In Hell stuck with me to some degree ever since I've finished it. It's somwhere around 100 pages long if I remember corecctly.

It's quite disturbing but it, somewhat ironically, helped me put things into perspective back when I've read it.

Not trying to defend any of the things you listed, I'm not sure though how awful behaviour by side A absolves side B of it's own share of awful behaviour.

It shouldn't be a matter of 'West vs. East' when, rightfully, calling out awful things.

It should be about the people in power who allow all these atrocities to happen, or even want them to happen, being held accountable. No matter if they are American, European, Chinese or whatever.

Shit just needs to stop.

Really like the aesthetic of this one, although that windmill sure is an eyesore on the landscape.

I'm not a parent yet, but my family grew by some nieces and nephews in recent years.

And while I'm not around them all the time, when I am, it definetly feels refreshing to hear their points of views or have them ask questions about things that I, as an adult, take for granted.

And more often than not these questions lead to new knowledge for myself, when we decide to look for more than just the surface level answers.

So I'd agree with the two listed 'benefits' of yours, if given the chance children can be a great opportunity for learning and growing as a person. One needs to make use of that opportunity though. I see a lot of parents dismiss questions with 'obvious' answers or even getting somewhat annoyed at times.

Right now a 2, depending on how the day unfolds it will become either a 3 or a 6

Yeah, chopped up some parsley for garnish.

Didn't turn out exactly how I envisioned it, I wanted the sauce to be a bit thicker. It was delicious nonetheless, not the last time I made this dish.

Overall prep and cooking time was fine as well, definelty one of the easier and quicker dishes to make.

I'd be down to share some of my home cooked meals on here occasionally.

However, I don't use Discord and it seems like all the posts here are collections of messages of the Discord.

Would individual posts be fine, or are these collected posts the preferred kind of posts in this community?

While there's a ton of valid critique that can be directed towards Spotify, I'm not exactly on board with some of the other comments in here.

Competition to Youtube in the form of Spotify is absolutely far from ideal, I still fail to see how serious competition for a monopoly like Youtube can be bad though.

While I'd love to see alternatives like PeerTube to become a serious competition, I don't think it's anywhere close to becoming reality anytime soon. If in the meantime platforms like Spotify could become a serious competitioner to Youtube, it could potentially lead to improved quality and/or service improvements for consumers.

So yeah, I'd wish for something better but I also won't be mad about a competitoner that could shake up things a bit when it comes to the monopoly position that Youtube currently holds.

Speaking as a younger but also older sibling, it is definetly a mixed bag. While I never was 'bullied' or tormented to a point I'd personally consider it serious I definetly was the punching bag for my older sibling at times. Likewise my younger siblings were to me, although I can't really say nowadays why I'd ever acted that way towards them.

On the other hand, even while punching down, as the older sibling, during our childhoods we were always protective of our younger siblings when it came to outward 'threats'. It was like the older sibling was the only one to pick on the younger one. If someone else dared to try, it was up.

Nowadays as adults we tossed the 'bullying' aspect of the relationship aside completely. The protective part remains and grew stronger. Everyone protects anyone else, should the need arive.

I'm not necessarily agreeing or disagreeing with the proposal but to quote the article (translated into english)

However, the study notes that the sector owes much of its growth to the opening of new outlets rather than to restaurant attendance, which has actually declined slightly. This is precisely one of the arguments put forward by Green Party lawmakers in their amendment to curb the opening of fast-food restaurants.

Which seems to me more like a factually based proposal than one based on 'feelings'.

However I'll agree that if the purpose were to tackle health issues stemming from nutrition there would be better ways to tackle the issue. On the other hand, even while not necessarily the best way to deal with this, coming from a health issue related viewpoint, a decline in growth of big fast food chains like McDonalds, would inadvertely aid in health related issues either way.

Either way I doubt the main goal of this proposal is to improve on health issues though, to me it seems to come from a ecological background.

Did you read the article? Because it gets clarified in there.

I don't know what's up with the thread name though, the article seems to have a different headline?
