Fuck yeah, I love slop. It's part of vegan culture.
Ooh, nice, thank you for posting! Joined 🌱
I'd be down to share some of my home cooked meals on here occasionally.
However, I don't use Discord and it seems like all the posts here are collections of messages of the Discord.
Would individual posts be fine, or are these collected posts the preferred kind of posts in this community?
This lemmy community is for the same purpose as the discord and it would be awesome if you wanted to post and share here, we started on discord many years ago so I'm plugging it here. This community existed here like 2 years ago but then we moved it to another instance for a while but I took that instance off line so I'm reopening this community. You probably don't see the old posts from before I shut down the lemmy.world one.
Before anyone else asks, before discord the chat was on matrix but literally 2 people joined and it was totally dead except a few spammers that joined to sell drugs from India, when I opened the discord it a lot of people joined and it became active.
Welp now im rather hungry, all of that looks fantastic
Aww, shame about vegan theory club, didn't know that it shut down. Props to you for keeping the comm alive though!
Do you have recipes for all of those?
Maybe. But one of the rules of the comm is to not ask for recipes. The intent is show and tell, and keeping it a low barrier for entry.
But some people love to talk about their cooking, and often post recipes on the discord.
This isn't a recipes community, sorry, this is show and tell. If you want to learn then you can join the discord, be nice and ask some questions after doing some research on your own.
No worries. I'll block the community so I'm not constantly asking for recipes. I'm not a vegan, and can't become vegan for health reasons, so I won't intrude on your safe space.
Never heard of a "can't be vegan for health reasons". Usually removing red meats etc ,and dairy are a bonus for health
I'd love to find a vegan recipes forum on lemmy LMK if you know of any. Family is not vegan, but i'm secretly adding vegan dishes into the rotation for my own selfish reasons. The goal is to turn them all vegan without them knowing that they're already vegan.
Writing recipes is a lot of work, that is why this community isn't about that. Just google vegan recipes and look at the huge amount of blogs that provide and professionally tested ones like shane and simple, vegan richa, well your world, oh she glows, rainbow plant life and more than I can ever count.
This community is to help vegans who are already cooking to network, share ideas and help out. As someone who has participated in a lot of food communities getting drive by requests to do work like write a recipe and rarely even a thank you kills these kinds of forums really quick. If you just search for recipes of things you like then ask what you would think is best or how would someone do this differently you would get a much better and more genuine response without making people feel like you are demanding they perform.
The safe space to be free from requests for labour?
