Not OP, but I believe he means he restricted outside internet access to that device (restricted communications to the thermostats MAC address to other internal devices)

I'm still incredibly frustrated they did that. I often heard "I'll just text you" in reply to "I'm leaving snap". Having an all-in-one app would've made that so much easier.

Boomerang was an old feature on Instagram where it would just take a video and then loop it backwards when it reached the end. It was a really stupid phenomenon that nobody really used, hence the reason the got rid of it.

What's really funny is how trivial FRP is to bypass on Android, whereas a stolen iPhone would be useless other than for parts, and even then they're all serialized anyway

I completely understand this. To remove an account in Outlook's app it says "delete account". It should 100% have a better explanation

That's my biggest gripe with the fediverse. SEO kinda sucks. I haven't had any luck with adding lemmy at the end

Looks like it's specifically the "casting" portion of Chromecast. The patent details having one device, in the example an iphone, request to play a video on a larger device, where it'll either play it from cache or pull it from the internet to display it. Seems a bit generic to actually patent something like that, but as usual parents serve to do nothing other than stifle innovation.
