I don't like age verification either but that feature is optional and it's up to the OS distributor to use it or not. Picking a distribution that doesn't use it is easier than building your own distribution with a systemd fork.

They say that the leadership behind Manjaro does not line up with the actual developers and community involved in it, noting that Manjaro has become “one individual’s personal project, and everything is centralized around this single individual”

So just leave to one of the other existing Arch spin offs?

Still waiting for the day Steam bites the bullet and just publish titles DRM free by default

They already do. Steam DRM is explicitly opt-in and the Steamdwork documentation even underlines that Steam DRM is a very weak form of DRM. Denuvo isn't by Valve/Steam and also opt-in.

Tweaking Ubuntu a bit counts and own Linux distribution?

I hope it's an improvement over OneUI 7 which I really don't like.

oh, so just stuff I already knew lol.

well, it's not a news reel. That my compact dock isn't working is something I know since June but I never saw the output of such an analyzer dongle, so I found it interesting nonetheless.

Was confused because he’s holding a switch 1 in the thumbnail

I didn't even realize that (loads no thumbnail on my Lemmy instance), I use DeArrow on YouTube, and while watching the video I did not look at the controllers. Apparently the joycon have a custom skin. There's a comment on YouTube from someone also confused.

So annoying that I can't use my compact dock when bringing the console to friends.

Heave Ho

Stick Fight The Game

All Sonic Racing games (Transformed is the best one but sometimes gets confused with inputs, you may need to delete a config file once in a while but it's not a Steam Deck-specific problem)

Really rooting for piefed honestly.

Problem is that's it's not just a question of political leaning, it's also one of software architecture. Lemmy is written in Rust, Piefed in Python.

I have doubts about the scalability of Python software to user numbers like Lemmy World has.

A good quality DAC connected to your USB port will give you far better sound than having a headphone jack.

Nobody's advocating for taking the USB-C port away.
