No, as it stands this is the end of F-Droid. Each developer registration must include the manifest IDs of all apps they publish. No way F-droid can include all the apps they publish in their registration.

Not everyone can afford or has the space to have both, and portability becomes the key factor. Easy to grab this laptop as desktop throw it in a bag and go. Can't really do that with a desktop.

That's being too generous. Some may not fully understand, but many do and simply don't care. Not sure if better or worse, but its not entirely lack of understanding.

The average user will go to join Lemmy and abort, because they can't grasp the idea that joining one server gets them into other servers. They worry about server selection, have analysis paralysis, and nope out. That's why they're asking for a bluesky reddit and not a mastodon reddit.

Fair response. I had assumed for many people 100/hr would replace their primary job and thus be worth the trade. If were talking measure time after your primary job, I certainly understand valuing that time even higher than your hourly rate at said job.

Not sure how those AI apps work, but it would be a shame if this boils down to a list of google approved input apps, like gboard or Samsung keyboard and anything else gets blocked.

In Chicago we did the same thing, but we only charge $0.07 per bag, and they're the exact same crappy plastic bags we had before.

Why is that? I've read them referred to as dark matter developers (forget where I read this, maybe a book many years ago). They're out there, they make up a majority of the field, yet they leave no trace because they do not blog, post on SO, or back in the day forums either as questioners or answerers.

While it is an electron app, it's a pretty decent one. Because it's not full of tracking and other crap it's pretty responsive.

Their web and mobile apps are pretty good. Its definitely not as polished as gsuite or office, but it's still good and you are the customer not the product.

I certainly hope it gets there and they get what's coming to them.
