We should absolutely avoid it. Subscription services are wreaking havoc in many other parts of the media landscape. The deal is good now because they're subsidizing the hell out of it, but just like what happened with streaming services the deal will get shittier and shittier until we're stuck with a horrible deal.

I hate to break it to you, but most men don't have a body shape like that. Not hating or anything, but skirts and croptops generally don't match too well with a hairy beer belly in the eyes of many ppl.

Because that's what I'm missing. I like the apps, I like the site, but I need content. And not memes or politics, but specific niche topics. The nice thing about Reddit is that there's more than enough content about basically anything. Non mainstream music (DnB, Hardstyle, Trance), games, hobbies. There are always hundreds ,if not thousands of people engaging. I don't want a discussion with 3 other people, I want a large community that can actually provide me with a lot of new information and keeps itself going without any effort from my end.

This scale is totally wack. The feet of the human bodies in the graph don't start at 0 but somewhere between 4 and 5. Such a bad graph. That being said, we Dutch people are very tall and powerful and you should be terrified >:3

When I was a student I never understood how something like this could happen. "Just rewrite it" I thought, how hard can that be. But working in a corporate environment I now totally understand it. Everything you write will at some point become part of code that, to the fast majority of colleagues, will just be a black box that they've never touched and don't intend to. Despite my urge to test and document everything, I've already more than once complained about my own code, only realizing later that I wrote it myself. Often you can still find out what it does, but the "why" gets lost and because of that people are afraid to change it.

As a software engineer/data scientist who has spent quite a while to find some good AI work, this sounds like absolute bullshit. Most companies don't need AI. Prompt engineer seems like a niche thing, I can't imagine that most companies really need someone who does that. It really frustrates me that these bullshit articles keep coming out without any sense or reason. AI is cool technology (imo), but currently it's just the latest bait for CEOs, managers, etc. Somehow these kinda people are just so vulnerable for hype words without ever thinking more than as second about how to use it or whether it's even useful.

As far as I understand, Europe will push for removable batteries by 2027.. So we might actually get back to those glory days.

Yeah that doesn't sound great at all. Must've been hard not to post all of this before, especially with people constantly asking. It seems like suddenly all kinds of issues at LTT boil over at once. They're going to need a change of direction and some well worded apologies in order to win back trust.

Personally I've started favouring boring big companies over cool flashy small companies to work for as well because of this kinda stuff. Having a very informal atmosphere definitely has it's plus sides when all goes well, but when you're in a (relatively) small company there's sometimes also a lack of professionalism all the way to the top. When you start running into problems you might very well run into the situation where nobody really takes your issues seriously, and because the company is small and everyone knows eachother well there's really noone to turn to. At least in big boring companies there seem to be protocols and a bit more distance between HR and the management.
