I'd use knife and fork but you do you.

Nice rule of thumb: 7% increase per year means doubling in 10 years.

Getting beat up by a group of Nazis. When they started kicking my head I thought I was going to die.

Now calculate how many nestle wells that steal people's water that makes.

It's not healthy, but it's cheap: a hamburger at McDonald's — €1.40, if I buy fries with it, €3.50.

3.50€ for a meal isn't cheap and nothing a poor person can afford on a regular basis. I can cook a great meal for under 2€ that doesn't consist of trash. What a detached asshole.

Still statistically worse for women than many countries.

Relate to laughing about you own jokes or being watched by the FBI?

[–] gonzo0815@sh.itjust.works 20 points 1 year ago

Choked me, but no one believes a 9-year old anyways so nothing happened.

He did though, but they obviously let it happen.

It was a flop.

I tried this one with a few adjustments: https://tastesbetterfromscratch.com/authentic-new-orleans-style-gumbo/

Aldi didn't have single green bell peppers, so I used a mixed bag. I also used another sausage than andouille, but I think it's close enough. Last, I replaced chicken broth with veggie broth because I have so much of it. Totally forgot that I have some self made in the fridge which will be used next time.

I think a lot of confusion about the fediverse stems from the fact that most services default to your local instance as front page. I know you can change it in the settings here, but the setting is also defaulted to local, so maybe that one should be set to all, too?

Is creating new communities possible right now? Or will it be? There is a feature request on github from January last year without any comments, so I wondered if it is even desired.

It seems the Sophos firewall at work blocks all access to lemmy instances.

Join-lemmy.org and lemmy.ml are blocked completely. I can see the front page on sh.itjust.works and lemmy.world, but clicking on a post results in an infinite loading circle. When I try to log in on either site I also get a loading circle on the login button.

Any ideas if I can circumvent the firewall?

Hello,

I'm a reddit refugee and used to rif. I particularly liked it because the design made it possible to read a lot of text without scrolling too much. I'd like to have the same experience here, but the two things I mentioned in the title impede that.

  1. I can change the font size, but the size of the thread titles in the feed is smaller than the font size of the comments, so I can choose between titles being too small or comment texts being too big. It would be really nice to adjust them separately.

  2. I feel there is a lot of empty space before and after texts, UI symbols etc. I really liked the "density" of rif. I get that a lot of people prefer the opposite, but maybe it's possible to also make that individually adjustable?

Oh and I'm using the android app.

Btw, off topic, but I'm kind of getting exited about all of this. I felt that reddit was one of the last spaces that wasn't completely messed up by corporate interest and I hope the whole fediverse thing will be a sustainable replacement. Keep up the good work!
