On Reddit there’s a lot of “lemmy’s too complicated to be adopted by the general public”. Ik we don’t all have the same tech literacy but it doesn’t seem that complicated, like, do you understand emailing? Then you understand most of what lemmy is… (also you don’t even have to understand the intricacies to enjoy your experience there)

I wish we’d stop depicting authoritarians and dictators in memes. Although it can seem like it’s making them a laughing stock, it’s not. It’s making them more sympathetic to the general public, and they’re taking advantage of it (see the White House PR troll team). Just ask a Colombian if they enjoy seeing Escobar memes, or a Ukrainian seeing Putin memes.
