Probably just easier to work with people that you are already familiar with.
Also, one thing that makes performance very bad is if you have a lot of subscribed communities is "Subscibed" box in front page and profile page, because it needs to get images for all of those.
I'm getting gateway time-out errors.
Forum users tend to prefer long-lasting discussions, which is not the case on Lemmy/Reddit, where threads are forgotten after a few days.
If you want to be able to add custom engines directly from the settings, in about:config
add browser.urlbar.update2.engineAliasRefresh
and set the value to true
, after that you should see Add button in about:preferences#search

If I had a community, I would probably try to keep the number of pinned posts to 2-3 max at a time and more only if absolutely necessary.
