While Apple has iCloud and M$ has OneDrive, both offering 5 free GB of storage, most Free backup services written for Linux are focusing on saving your data to your own hard drive lying next to your computer. That is troublesome and not the most reliable as in case of a house fire or a flood it will burn or drown along with the machine. Some offer an option to buy some storage from a third-party provider like Amazon, but that's again non-open and troublesome.

Is a free&Free peer-supported service possible? Where, similar to torrent tech and PeerTube, you allocate some storage on your PC to someone's backups, and can publish your data on the network in return, so that data would be distributed between computers and could be requested on demand?

I cannot get further than GRUB except to rescue mode, when I attempt to boot the main Fedora OS it gets stuck on searching for a disk indefinitely. Gets stuck on Job dev-disk-by\<many symbols>.device/start running (1h / no limit) in the console.

I have a Windows partition on same drive, it also doesn't boot, it's rescue command prompt (from where you are instructed to open notepad to rescue files) doesn't "see" any disk but C: and X: (emerg boot).

I tried booting this machine with two live OS USBs: Fedora and SystemRescue. Neither of them list the SSD (or anything but the USB drive FS itself) in lsblk or the file manager.

Due to lack of storage mediums, I haven't done a backup in a while. How can I rescue the files? Many passwords are also stuck there, in Firefox manager I wasn't able to sync due to losing access to the 2FA email.

Edit: SOLVED! Needed to switch disk mode in BIOS/UEFI from RAID to AHCI. IDK how it got to RAID in the first place.

The only working PC I have is a 32-bit x86 and has a minimal Debian installation. I need to flash a USB with an ISO file from it to make a live system. I tried for a few days to get flathub or appimage working there, but just can't. I decided an apt package would be the easiest course of action, but neither Rufus, Impress or BalenaEtcher seem to be available in default repos. It there a program that is there? A bare .elf executable with no packaging would also be fine.

I'm not into sports myself, but I hear a lot of people complain about predatory subscriptions to professional sport streaming servicies, intrusive gambling ads, etc. Organize free internet streaming of old broadcasts right as they enter public domain (50 years after broadcast in UK) and pretend they are going live, do discussion, bar cheering, all the things sports people do to entertain themselves, for free.

Anyone else got this problem? Session expires and I have to log in again every few hours.

I know that varies by region, but schoolchildren are generally taught cursive as a faster way to write. It already requires some memorisation with some glyphs being different from block letters. Why not make an additional step and completely replace it with shorthand, making writing an order of magnitude faster?
