At man ment I do it with + adresses instead of alias. It works also.

Meanwhile I do not lile it anymore, that the caldav calendars are fully separated. Its not possible to have the flexibility I need for family management.

Prepare some money for a fresh start.

Mainly to be more flexible for new jobs to gain income. You may need money to be flexible at the beginning. E.g. for traveling. In some countries, it could be important to further pay some insurance. I would check in advance what you need and what not.

I work for a local club we have some rarly used Social Media accounts. But we have also the problem our head does work voluntary and some - like me and not only me - do not like facebook instagram or tiktok. But we have to work with these tools.

We need a selfhosting, web accessibility tool that allows a club to send posts to several social media services and allow also to manage comments social media independent.

In best case it made social media management that easy that I could get also a Fediverse account.

OpenVFS and Systemd-Homed possible?

I'm into selfhosting and Im looking for a way to centralize the Userhomes and have a better Backup of these files.

The idea is to use a virtual filesystem to sync needed data to the client PC and have Homed to encrypt userdata and store the data on server.

That way I do not have to backup the client PCs.

What do you think? And are there any working examples out there?

While speaking with a colleague who is working in a small company he told me, that the lost track about user right management. They had a an excel table where they tracked all user groups and special rights users in the company have. But depending on some changes in the company structure, they got problems.

Is there any selfhosting software to manage usergroups, teams and userrights in a modern UI? It should be abe to set also data owner and so may keep track on non Active-Directory data.

My mom was not interested in the surface cause she only need Mail, Browser, Whatsapp web and here Background image. So she used Ubuntu with the side bar as good as with Mint. Same goes for gmy Granny. I propose, Ask what possibilities are important for here - Do not ask about Application - and show here afther that where to do things.

For showing the new PC. Do it with some work she has to do. Learning curve is way better thatway.

I admire your energetic here. I only installed the latest ubuntu (cause of latest gpu driver updates) then I installed steam from software center and it works nothing to do anymore.

#Linux community does someone know a tutorial for a kind of self made  #ThinClient device?

I have an old notebook with Linux which does not anymore fit my power requirements, but I have a Linuc PC in my cellar which I use as working device over #RDP since a while and I love this way.

Is there a Remote-Desktop Linux Distribution (RDP, #VNC or #Moonlight) with the sole purpose to connect a VPN on startup and directly login to a Remote-Desktop and also redirect USB-Devices to remote?

never did that, but ventoy claim it could do that.

In various countries with multi-party systems, there is the concept of government coalitions. As I understand it, it is similar to cartel agreements, which we prosecute under criminal law.

  • But why are coalitions legal and needed?
  • Why does the multi-party system in Switzerland work without coalitions?

I work with #Wine since that day where you also could copy a whole Windows folder into wine to get it work. Not long after that, I created my first Wine prefix for a Game I still have. For games which already worked I do see difference on the 3d quality. I'm a bit surprised that my 32bit games work without problems but are not able to be used with 32-64bit mixed mode. I'm a bit afraid of their future because I miss some installer or lost licence keys and simply copied the games from Linux to Linux the last 20 years.

Over the year, I'm not anymore a gamer. I collect my games and currently watch the development of #GOW #GamesOnWhales and plan to create a Gameserver for my children.

My problem currently are Business application like from #Autodesk, #Solidworks or similar. Which even not install. And it seems some new UI tools Microsoft introduces and the new store also not work.

I think people should not be forced to answer. Cause answers should be well answered. I think questionairs should see how many skiped the answer until 12 answer could got, to get an idea how difficult their question was. may add a timout for around 7s for the skip button so people are confronted and could not avoid it to fast.

[-] ratatouille@feddit.org 8 points 1 year ago

Allow to skip and answer an altwrnat answer. (if the questioner wish that.) otherwise allow to answer standard excuse like:

  • Please think further, this are not the only options
  • I do not understand the Question
  • You need a better help than a crowd can give you
