~~AI~~ Companies are treating their workers like human garbage.

FTFY.

In other news, farm workers that speak up against their employers are getting reported to ICE, billionaires just got richer off the backs of their workers, and the government expects you to solve all the institutional problems you experience as a side effect of wealth accumulation your damned self.

Any judge that does this should be forcibly removed from any and all cases even remotely related to religion. Because clearly, they put their religious beliefs above the law.

If their religion says what to do about any given thing and that thing comes up in their courtroom? BAM! Instant disqualification. Get a proper, impartial judge that won't deny people legitimate government services because their religion dictates all their actions (aka theocracy).

Bolton: Trump is going to weaponize the DOJ and the FBI!

Trump: Yes. Now do me a favor and resist arrest or something.

I'd say this is a betrayal but no: This is how Trump has always operated. Bolton knew this when he went to work for Trump. This is merely the logical conclusion for anyone who willingly works for Trump.

Meh. He didn't harm anything. He just broke the rule of, "keep off the memorial."

Basically, a non-event. Why is this news?

Another commenter gave the main point but there's more: Treaties. There's a lot of treaties that only work because nearly every county signed on to them and the reason why they signed on is because of promises of aid... USAID.

Things like the Berne Convention that guarantee that countries will enforce copyright law. It's because of that treaty that it doesn't really matter where you upload pirated content... It'll still be taken down because all these countries (with Internet) signed on.

If there's nothing like USAID to help these countries they will likely pull out of the Berne Convention and other treaties and start pirating (and selling) content from other countries like the US.

Free movies from wherever for all citizens! Pirate anything and everything! Use our country's YouTube and TikTok equivalents and you'll never have to worry about your content being taken down!

There's other things like not developing weapons of mass destruction, not working with our enemies, providing for the safety of our citizens that visit, etc that will all likely go away along with USAID.

It's rapidly becoming worse than that. Soon it will be:

Laws only apply to non-conservatives/non-Republicans.

It's the Nazi playbook. It will start by ignoring the law when it comes to smaller minority groups like LGBTQ people, immigrants, etc but it will expand to include anyone who isn't an adherent to the ruling party's ethos and ultimately anyone who doesn't bow their head/pay a bribe to the correct political authority.

Right now Republicans are mostly playing by the rules by passing laws that only punish their "out" groups/scapegoats but eventually that won't be good enough.

I'm going for a trifecta: $50 says that...

  • JD Vance is fired by the end of August
  • Trump suffers a heart attack or stroke from the stress of bad ~~ratings~~ polling and dies shortly afterwards
  • Republican party, totally clueless as to what to do tries to put forward a Mike Johnson/JD Vance ticket after loads of completely idiotic infighting that will have everyone scratching their heads, saying, "WTF?"

Bonus: Ron DeSantis and Marco Rubio will both be pissed beyond belief and still in complete denial that nobody really likes them.
